"Gertrude, ready for a swim?" Kurma gets his rope and give an ends to Brunella "If you feel two pulls that means we need you to pull us up" He then turns Invisible and carefully enters the water, looking out for possible creatures lurking around.
Gertrude helps Kurma lift the chest out of the water. Then she looks at the lock again. A wave of sadness washes over her and she says to herself: "Felix would have had a blast with this lock."
Then she looks at Kurma and Oniss. "Didn't either of you pocket a magic key that can open any lock? I'd prefer not to get devoured!"
Then she steps back, giving others the space to work on the chest.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Oh yes, I do..." Kurma looks into his bag full of books, tinkers, rations and finally found the magical key. Kurma places the magical key in the lock...
When the key doesn't work, Gertrude feels defeated. Nothing in this tomb is making sense. Her strength feels useless with all these puzzles and locks and weird triangular head shapes of the skeletons. What were they even collecting them for?
Then she remembers her training. She knows how to fight, how to use her strength, but she also knows how to keep a team together. She looks around the room again. Maybe one of the other members could bring something? "Oniss, would you try magically knocking at this chest? Maybe that could work?"
Taking another look at the chest, Irommek re-reads the inscription:
"I devour all but the greatest thieves".
"My fingers are a little too rough for picking locks. They are better served gripping a hammer. However, if we still have Felix's lock-picking tools and someone wants to give it a try, I'll ask Valkauna if she can lend us some guidance."
Shrugging his shoulder, he chuckles under his beard and says, "Or we can just hit it real hard. I'll lend you a hand if you want to take a swing at it Brunella."
OOC: probably wont help much, but Irommek will use guidance and maybe a little help action to bolster Brunella's test of strength against the chest.
Brunella takes a deep breath, and, aided by her fellow dwarf, attempts to force open the chest. Her powerful muscles flex like steel coils as she tries to pry the chest open.
Brunella's brute force is more than enough to open the tricky chest. The interior is lined with lead and contains 300 gp, a gold tankard embossed with a sad face and a stoppered bone tube.
Brunella picks up the items curiously. She pays special attention to the tankard. As a dwarf, she is naturally drawn to anything that can be used to consume ale. Even though she comes from a stone age primitive tribe, she feels the pull of alcohol.

Kurma and Gertrude dive together to get the chest.
They get close.
Too close.
As soon as they get the chest and try to lift it... the chest obliges. It is heavy, but they are able to take it on the rocky bank of the cavern.
Gertrude helps Kurma lift the chest out of the water. Then she looks at the lock again. A wave of sadness washes over her and she says to herself: "Felix would have had a blast with this lock."

The mystery key doesn't unlock the chest.
"Well, it hasn't tried to eat us, so I guess that's a wee bit of silver lining..."

Oniss puts his hand on Gertrude's shoulder and gets closer to the chest.
Oniss casts knock on the lock.

Oniss' spell seems to have no effect on the chest.
