"Its been some time since your last adventure - trouble and treasure have been unusually scarce. But then you heard a rumor in Triboar. It seems that people have been disappearing on the Long Road, on a hundred-mile stretch between there and Longsaddle. A large number number of people now, all gone without a trace."
This is a horror adventure for a group of 4-6 adventurers of 3rd level (no higher, no lower). For character creation, use the starter equipment granted by your class and background. Generate ability scores using either standard array or point buy. Any official WoTC content is permitted with an exception of the Haunted One background from CoS (UA not allowed). Submit your character by posting a minimum of the following information:
Name
Race (and subrace) and class (include subclass (Example: if you are a fighter, list your martial archtype)), start at level 3
Ability scores
Background
A short, two-sentence long description of your character's overall personality and behavior. End this with a third sentence listing your character's alignment.
After a number of people have posted, I will close the recruiting thread (the thread's status will be listed as "Private") and I will pick 4-6 people that will join the campaign and notify them through PMs (private messages). For those who have been selected, they may find the campaign in a different thread titled: A Light In the Mist.

Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
Marcen has always been interested in his ancestry, and has studied magic in all its forms. Now he is out adventuring, trying to learn about everything he can. He can be reckless when he is curious about something. Even though he is a sorcerer and doesn't need it, he carries a spell book with him convincing simple thieves that he is a standard mage instead of what he is.
Race: Human (Variant Human option) (Paladin of Sune, Oath of Devotion)
Abilityscore: STR 13, DEX 10, CON 12, INT 8, WIS 15, CHA 16
Background: Acolyte
Rose is a playful and kind person who seeks joy and light in even the darkest hour. A tease and a flirt, she never the less is a warrior capable of protecting those who call out for her aid. Devoted to the Goddess of Love and Beauty she seeks to leave the world a better and more beautiful place than when she entered it (Chaotic Good).
Name: Stephen Lightwalker Race: Human (Variant Human) (Paladin of Tyr, Oath of Vengeance) Ability scores: Str 16, Dex 8, Con 14, Int 8, Wis 10, Cha 16 Background: Soldier (Officer)
Stephen is a veteran soldier, bullied as a kid, and abused by his father (who he ended up killing at the age of 16), he always wanted to punish wrongdoers. Harshly. So after killing his father and having to provide for his family, he became a soldier and went to many a battle, all to collect a few coins to survive. He is devoted to the god of justice, and will exact retribution on any evildoers. Stephen took up an oath of vengeance against any who cause harm to others for no discernible reason (causing harm to those people is fair game, as Stephen no longer considers them as humans), making Stephen Lawful Neutral.
Name: Kelthorn Adelbarn Race & Class: Human Battle Master Fighter Ability scores: Str 16, Dex 10, Con 16, Int 9, Wis 13, Cha 9 Background: Acolyte (Temple Guard)
Gifted to the temple of Savras in Neverwinter, as the result of a fortune told, Kelthorn was raised to serve but the life of a priest would prove to be a waste of his physical capabilities. Guard to the clerical hierarchy he would oft accompany them on missionary work which gave him a taste for travelling the world. His devotion to faith and fate makes Lawful Neutral an appropriate alignment.
Personality: Laughs a lot and tells joke, but that's only to cover up that he is scared in a world with not many Kenku around to journey with, so he finds adventure where he can get it. He is Neutral. Never know when you need some crazy allies or some peaceful ones.
I try very hard to fit in, but fail in most situations. I ask too many questions, and miss social cues prompting me to be quiet, but stop when asked to directly. I am Neutral Good.
Audin Male Half-Elf Warlock (Archfey :: Pact of the Blade) STR 8 // DEX 14 // CON 16 // INT 12 // WIS 10 // CHA 16 Background: Sage
Audin is driven by the pursuit of knowledge, adventuring gains the resources to do this, but he will not hesitate to trade the material for access to knowledge arcane, lore or information. A long exposure to the Fey Wild, in fact practically growing up there, means he approaches life with a disdain for constraints and a dull view of needless structures. He is Chaotic Neutral, employing many different means to gain his ultimate objectives.

Not really a rules lawyer, more like a rules paralegal.
Personality: Serik grew up to abassador parents, put under pressure to succeed, Serik wants to be liked by people and seen as a hero. He often finds himself trying to protect everyone and save everyone. Serik is Chaotic Good.
Brother Brisket is a member of a Dwarven monastery which trains butcher-monks, artisans and warriors of the cleaver who have pledged themselves to a life of service protecting their fellow Dwarves and providing them with the very best in cold cuts. Brother Brisket has embarked on a journey of discovery, both internal and external, as he searches out and samples the cured meat products of the world around him, keeping an ever-watchful eye out for the lost charcuterie recipes of yore.
Brother Brisket is Lawful Neutral, primarily concerned with keeping the vows and oaths of his Oder and the general well-being of Dwarven-kind, he holds no ill will to anyone and will look to keep order in all his interactions with the civilized races; however his butcher's training and ascetic mindset have also prepared him to get his hands dirty if needed... blood washes off after all.
Boomer was found abandoned and was raised by simple farmers, never receiving any sort of education. He is not very intelligent, but is incredibly strong, loyal, and has an incredible heart that just wants to help people however he can (which usually means bashing in skulls of dangerous creatures). Boomer once saved his small village from a fierce bandit attack, using a greataxe that he had found (looted of the body of a thief he once skull-bashed). This made Boomer a local hero, and also made him very attached to this greataxe which he named Pointy. Boomer's commitment to good and lack of knowledge to be able to understand the law makes him chaotic good.
Fharirah grew up in a town with plenty of food and clothes and such, but she was often ignored and bullied by other kids, which created a deep-rooted fear of being neglected, so Fharirah will go to great (often lewd) lengths to gain admiration (which is what led her to be an adventurer). Fharirah has a darker side, though, with sadistic tendencies and likes to make her enemies suffer like she did.
Nevets wondered most of his life, trained by a monk who knew his parents. The monk taught the values of life to simply breath and train ones body to help others. They would wonder the lands helping folks with farm work or getting rid of the local problems. Nevets life consisted of helping those in need and moving on to the next place that needed him. (Neutral Good)
Alright everyone, I will now send the PMs to my selected six players!
Thank you for all your submissions!
