Don walks up to the proxy. "I realize this is all outside of your comfort zone. Mine too, we tend to like things neat and tidy don't we." he is speaking in a calm noble tone. "Unfortunately, something is going on in the city, something nefarious and you have been tasked to help the water baron get to the bottom of it."
"My dear gruff holy friend here cast a spell. A magical spell that causes all in it to tell the truth. I believe we are both in it as well. Go ahead, try and tell a lie. Tell me your skin is purple with yellow polka dots. Something silly. This is why we chose questions that were straight forward. We can get specific answers, truthful answers, but that is all we are able to do. Remember an innocent young man's life hangs in the balance. And maybe even the peace of your city."
As the last painful sounds escape the body, Flint feels the necromantic magic dissipating.
"Amazing! I can't tell a lie; it's as if my mouth won't even move." Nestra's proxy is distracted momentarily by the sensation of Flint's zone of truth, but regains his composure forthwith. "So...it's done? And you're saying that the...corpse...was compelled to tell the truth?" Nestra's proxy looks on in trepidation, as if half expecting the body to rise up off the table.
Don whispers to the proxy so that Flint cannot hear. "There is no way to lie in here, for the living or the dead. Flint is very powerful.I don't want him to hear, he gets such an ego."

//Don will ask Ink to watch the proxy's body language for any signs he knows the men they are talking about.//
As they walk Don will talk idly with the proxy, "A noble shouldn't go out that way. His last wish was that we avenge his death. Hopefully someone will be able to help us find this Rool or Drylund."
//Don is making idle small talk and watching for his reaction, especially to the name.

Ink asks if they may search the body for additional clues based on the encounter they had last night. Ink also reminded Flint that squid tongue used no weapons.
He then asks, "A noble? Did he or his family have a particular industry or the like that they are known for?"
The mortician gives permission to examine the corpse, but asks that you be respectful. The body is naked under a sheet of linen.
The proxy tells Ink, "As far as I know, the family is a moneyed one from Waterdeep. I do not know their industry there."
You can tell very plainly that the man wants to get away from this place. It could be the smell, or the dead bodies, or the necromantic magic he just witnessed.

Ink asks for help from Don who is a skilled investigator, and some guidance from Flint... He hopes to find further evidence that would clear Harthnal and any other evidence that could possibly tie the victim to Rool or the "society."

The man's corpse has been thoroughly cleaned. You can tell from examining his skin that he has probably never once had to put in a hard day's work. The face looks oddly peaceful for someone who experienced such a violent death. The stab wounds have been cleaned, but now that attention has been called to them, Lady Nestra's proxy assures you that Harthal will be acquitted of murder, based solely on the shape of the wounds, and the fact that the supposed murder weapon does not match the wounds that riddle the corpse's back.
The Water Baron's Hall is open in the morning and ready for you to visit. Nestra greets you outside, and brings you in. As you walk up the stairs towards he office, you notice a steady trickle of water running down the steps from the second level.
"Nestra, as always it is a pleasure to see you. As I am sure your proxy has told you, we have news." He smiles charmingly, "Uhm... are you having an issue?" he nods toward the trickle of water. "I know you are the water baron, but..." he smirks in good natured.
Nestra glances at the water running down her staircase. “Not to my knowledge...”
She calls up the stairs, “Briggs? What’s going on up there?” No answer comes.
If you advance up the stairs, you will see that the trickling stream of water is coming from under the closed door of the Waterbaron’s office.

Meanwhile, as Matrix sits in waiting at the jail, two guardsmen arrive with orders to remove Harthal Zymorven from custody and restore his freedom to him. They carry his fine clothing and a bag of what must be personal belongings.
Crownsguard is going to brace the door and open it slightly. That way, if the room is filled with water, he can just slam it shut if it tries to burst open.

Ink asks the Waterbaron for the dimensions and layout of her office. Once he has her response he stands opposite of Crownsguard, poofs Quill into existence in his hand, wishes her luck and then poofs her back into the pocket dimension only to cause her to reappear inside the Waterbaron's office, using the description from Nestra, inwwhat is hopefully an unoccupied space higher up closer to the ceiling. He immediately transfers his senses into her to survey the room
"Let's get you out of here before they change their minds again, I know a good place to eat" Matrix gives harthal? (Eventually I'll remember his name) a look that says the place to eat is code for something else. He then guides him in a very roundabout way so as to loose any tales to the ship and his waiting bride
Quill poofs into existence inside the Waterbaron's office to find it ransacked and flooded with water. Furniture is overturned, papers and books are soaked, and there is about an inch of standing water on the floor, which is slowly leaking out from the door.
Harthal Zymorven seems confused about his freedom, and increasingly worried. His thoughts are for his wife Sanra, and his concern is that she is in imminent, mortal danger following his release. He doesn't immediately catch the "code," and will require some extra explaining. He doesn't think this is the time at all to stop for food.
If Matrix explains his reasoning, then Harthal is understanding of the circuitous route that Matrix is taking. (Otherwise, he pesters him endlessly with demands that he be brought to his wife and that "her blood will be on your hands if she isn't properly protected!")
"Open it fully, Crownsguard - it's not underwater, but it is flooded. Everyone - be on guard. Protect the Waterbaron and Sanra," Ink says as his vision returns to his own eyes.
