The man opens his eyes wide, and even from this distance, you can see that they are black, like the blackness behind him, through which you cannot even see street lamps. As you speak, you can barely discern a low hum coming from the man, but when Matrix and Don's eyes glow red, the hum grows instantly to a high-pitched whistle. A sudden, strong blast of humid wind hits you square in the face!

Ink perceives the following: the man's skin is smooth and looks almost slippery, wet. The color is hard to discern in the dim light, but seems unnaturally pallid. His eyes are entirely black, no pupils or irises, just flat black. Furthermore, his voice sounds slightly muted, as if your ears are partially plugged up with water.

Ink asks Sanra as he pushes by her to be interposed between she and her pursuers, "I don't suppose you'd know why a water genasi would be after you, would you?" 

He then focuses his attention on the spell caster and his posse, as he draws his scimitar with the ruby of the war mage, he begins a slow dance (bonus action to enact blade song), and he calls to the leader of the gang, "She's under our protection - what do you want with her? Explain it SLOWly!"

Ink targets all of the interlopers with a slow spell... 

Don glances over at Matrix, "Well that escalated quickly. You know he could have attacked us instead of pushing us away."

"We can still end this without more bloodshed," he shoots a withering glance at Matrix, "though we will not hesitate to fight."

If they already have gone this round I'll hold off on firing.

Crownsguard will remains in front and holds his attack in case anyone comes closer, “If you attempt to further harm this woman or my companions, I will subdue you.”

Sanra is able to hide behind Crownsguard and his powerful aura, keeping safe from the force of the sudden gale. As the humid blast of wind hits your faces, you can taste...salt, brine.  

The hairless human points slowly toward you and calls to the rest of the group with him. The thugs in front of you move slowly, as if trying to walk through water. Ink's spell looks to have been particularly effective! 

Nevertheless, two of the thugs are just able to reach Crownsguard, and they viciously strike, one with a short blade and one with a spiked club.

Sword Attack against Crownsguard: 18 Damage: 4 piercing

Mace Attack against Crownsguard: 12 Damage: 5 bludgeoning

The hairless one seems to be uttering some sort of incantation and moving his hands in a spellweaving sort of way, but again, it's slow, as if he's moving through water. He is certainly casting a spell.

“I see.” Crownsguard is going to swing the flat of his blade into the skull of the sword waving maniac: Attack: 8 Damage: 10... good to be back

Thanks to Ink's slow spell, Don is able to line up a clean shot just around Crownsguard's sizeable silhouette, and takes out one of the thugs with a powerful blast of eldritch force. 

The thugs in the back fire at Crownsguard with crossbows. Both of them have been slowed by Ink, and seem to be panicking a little even as they raise the crossbows to fire.

Crossbow Attack (against half cover): 20 Damage: 11

The human in the middle of the group continues to move his hands and shouting incantations, and seems to be overpowering Ink's spell effects. However, as he does so, the blast of sea air seems to subside. You are now able to move at your normal speed.

Finally, the foremost thug runs in slow motion into Flint's radiant spirit guardians, and you can see the look of horror dawn belatedly on his face as he is nearly ripped apart by the protective magic.

Ink, feeling the wind die, and taking advantage of the slowed thugs, snakes his way through Crownsguard and the thugs sliding into the corner behind the caster, drawing his second scimitar as he does. 

As he slides into position, Quill dives at the caster creating a distraction! 

Squared off, Ink slashes at the caster with his scimitars!

Matrix returns Don's glare, "he looked like a priest so I got confused and tried to kill him, sorry. I was trying to break his concentration you dolt." He then strides straight forward to the nearest thug, shoots the one in front of the caster in the leg (winging shot) then bonus action flurry of blows punches the one in front of him. All none lethal.

Bang 29 for 13 On a hit, the creature takes damage and must make a STR saving throw (15) or be knocked prone

Ink dances around the magically slowed enemies and surprises the enemy caster by delivering a power blow, interrupting him in his casting. It is now fully apparent that he is no longer himself showed by Ink’s magic, since he parries Ink’s attacks expertly with his own short, metallic rod. 

Up close, Ink can see that the man’s pallid skin has a wet sheen about it, like he’s just come out of the water, though his purple/black robes are dry.

At the same time, Matrix blows apart the leg of one of the remaining thugs, who screams and drops to the ground, writhing in pain as he bleeds out onto the frozen street. 

Don looks at Matrix, "Really still bring up that priest, that's ancient history." He nods to Edgar who swoops down to help distracting the first guy.

"You keep bringing that up. I said I was sorry." He rolls his eyes dramatically as he swings his short sword at the one on the left.

Green Flames surround the sword as he swings it.

Don then disengages back to stand next to Matrix. "Seriously, let it go."

He nods toward Ink and calls out, "You were right, owls are very useful. Thanks for the tip."

Don's strike is powerful, but the hairless man seems to bend unnaturally to parry his strike as well. Green flames wreath around him and the thug nearby, and while the thug is dealt with easily, the caster seems to be holding his own with both Ink and Dontontion. 

Flint steps forward and hurls the [Tooltip Not Found] at the caster and casts spiritual weapon
