"I say we turn this ambush on them. If we can keep that scout out of the way, we can get Kaemar and Merrick to a position where they are well hidden in the trees. If we can do that, then we can simply be two drunken men walking through the woods, and they will chase us back in this direction, where our companions will take some of them out. At that point, we turn around and show how deadly our weapons can be"

Readying herself, drawing her innate power in Kaemar focuses on the lone scout across the path, she calls forth a small mote of fire and throws it out across the path at the unsuspecting bandit. This will be the first time casting in front of her potential comrades, a touch of anxiety creeps through, but not much, she is confident in her powers and thinks the bandit to be an easy target.
The fire bolt zips across the road and strikes the lookout directly in his throat burning a hole through his trachea and carotid arteries. Grabbing his neck he quickly falls against the nearby tree trying to call out but all that escapes is a wet gurgle. He quickly loses conciseness from blood loss and dies just as quietly.
The remaining bandits are not alerted.
I've moved you up 2 squares into the underbrush. Now in H2.
"Louis, it's our turn. Are you ready for this?" Ragnor quickly messes his beard and hair up, and adjusts his clothes so that he appears to have been drinking. He then takes his waterskin and pours a little bit on himself so it looks like he spilled some alcohol. Ragnor looks at Kaemar and Merrick and makes a motion to stay hidden, then starts singing a loud, dwarven drinking song while stumbling down the road, "Let our ale never run dry, nor our blades miss their marks! We'll fight until we fall, and we'll drink until we die!"

Louis follows suit even saying some of the words in Dwarven, his hammer is in his hand treating as a mock conductor's baton. The weight of the hammer adding to the exaggerated movement. (Performance 19 )
Merrick, caught up the melody, starts tapping his fingers along to the rhythm. He almost starts to whistle, when he realizes that he is supposed to keep quiet. He smiles and gives a thumbs up gesture to Kaemar.
Kaemar looks back to see the pair giving a convincing performance of some drunks on the road, staying where she is she grips her orb, readying herself to move or cast when needed.
Casting message she points at Louis whispering "nicely done, but watch out for archers"
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Vhon - Level 2 Warlock - What shall become of the Drunken Sailor?
Ragnor and Louis continue down the path with Merrick stocking to the shadows. After a minute they pass the first of the bandits and as the presumed Leader of this group of bandits steps to the middle of the path the others move to surround the drunkards.
“Look what we have here boys, a couple a holy men in their cups.” (He calls down the road) “Hey, Reggie, you must be drunker than these two making so much racket. You get nothin’ from this score you lazy ass!”
he steps in close and the stench is pungent. This crew has been in the woods for a while.
“Now if you good sirs would be so kind as to strip down and provide us with all your worldly possessions. Surely two men of the cloth such as yourselves have no use of earthly pleasures.”
he draws his scimitar in a practiced and threatening flourish. The others follow suit.
Ok, I missed that. Thanks. If you guys get the jump on them, your order is Kaemar, Louis, Merrick, Ragnor. After you complete the surprise round I'll post the bandit order.
update: the Gaurds are all facing Louis and Ragnor. Surprise will work if Kaemar or Merrick attacks first. Either will be first for the surprise round ignoring initiative. (The bandits are expecting confrontation from their marks.)
Kaemar walks out of the undergrowth (I6) and raises her orb, calling forth more energy from within she casts another spell, this time sending waves of sleep crashing against some of the bandits flanking her comrades.
sleep26 hp effected, spell placed in P14 to only catch bandits and not the party in it's area of effect
Edit: I think I have misread the blast radius potentially to hilarious effect! I hope you guys have more hp than the bandits or this could be very bad...
Louis looks down at Ragnor as he whispers,
"So what are you thinking?"

Louis loosens his shield and war hammer to access them more easily and nods at the dwarf.

Initiative rolls? Sounds like Merrick and Kaemar are ready to get this started. Presumably we have surprise in attacking the scout.

Everyone roll for initiative so we have it. You still have the element of surprise. Make your moves and if combat is triggered, we'll get down to it.
