Ragnar will quickly pull his sword and shield out and swings at Bandit 1 (Who I believe is the leader), and shouts, "Too bad Helm has no protection to spare you!"

"Hey sleepyhead, get up!" Merrick wakes up Louis with a gentle shake and a smile, offering his small hand to the powerful man on the ground. "We have to move quickly, these guys are sleeping and we need to restrain them!"
Merrick then begins tying up bandits as well with rope.

Merrick whispers softly to Ragnor and Louis "Do me a favor and do your best dwarven glower. And Louis, can you flex those gigantic biceps a bit? Perfect!"
Merrick deftly grabs the dagger from the fourth bandit. "Hi folks! Really sorry about leaving you tied up like that! I'm Merrick, and these three not-so gentlemen are my traveling companions. Today's your lucky day! I know, I know, it seems like a bad day. But it's really a great day for you. Maybe the best day of your lives. You see, I'm a really nice guy, I really am! I had the idea to leave you tied up to a tree instead of cut up and bled out all over the road. These guys here (honestly, I won't say friends, I barely know them, haha!), well they just wanted to kill you. In fact they still do. But thanks to my sunny disposition and charm, they've given me the chance to ask you fine men a couple of questions. And they said they'll consider letting ME convince THEM to leave YOU alive! Isn't the best news? It really is! I'm so happy! They are SO reasonable!
"By the way, great try with the dagger! I would have done the same! I'm all for you trying again, but I dooooo have to warn you that Ragnor here kinda sorta wanted to cut your fingers off if you try again. But hey, if I'm the one that catches you it's no harm no foul. But thought I'd let you know, just to be fair. I'd hate to have my little fingers cut off. They're precious. I'll bet yours are too! Fingers are great, aren't they?"
"Anyways, here I am running my mouth off again. Can you tell me about what's up ahead? I'd really like to the one asking questions. Honestly watching Louis smash skulls in is not my thing. Why do that? It's ugly. And you don't deserve that. You're just trying to make a buck. I know how it is! I really do. So let's have a friendly chat, what do you say?"
Persuasion : 19 (assuming Help from Ragnor and/or Louis) + 2from Guidance makes 21
OOC: Louis, if you have Guidance would you mind casting it on me?
"Hey sleepyhead, get up!" Merrick wakes up Louis with a gentle shake and a smile, offering his small hand to the powerful man on the ground. "We have to move quickly, these guys are sleeping and we need to restrain them!"
Without stopping helping Ragnor, Kaemar calls over to Louis "no hard feelings I hope, I didn't think the spell would be that strong, are you ok?"
Turning to Kaemar, realization dawns on his face, "Oh, I see what you did - yeah, I'm okay, but maybe next time work on your aim - with that said, it was a restful micronap."
Bandits 2, 3, and 4 come to in a snap as the spell wears off. They each immediately see that they are bound to the tree.
Bandit 3: "So you're sneaky eh, pullin' tricks to win a fair fight, huh? Buncha cowards is what you are, flat chicken shit cowards."
Bandit 2: "Hey now, what are you guys gonna do? No hard feelings right? We're just out here trying to make ends meet you know?"
Bandit 4 "..." only glowers at you.
Bandit 1 remains unconscious as his was not magic induced.
Bandit 4 starts working out a hidden dagger to cut the ropes with. Slight of hand 11He struggles but is unable to reach it.
Responding to the bandits and looking them over top to bottom, "Right - as if you haven't been getting the drop on innocents as they pass their way through. I would be happy to deal out some retribution, but as I was asleep, I feel like I can't really pass judgement - perhaps we should just leave them here tied up to the tree without their weapons and gear, and what happens... happens."
// PERCEPTION CHECK: 17 //
Louis casually walks over to the 4th Bandit seeing what he's attempting, "Ah - thank you for starting the process for us - I'll take this knife thank you."
Louis grabs the knife not quite loosened, still in its scabbard just out of reach of the bandit's fingers.
FYI Duke, Louis has 10hp.

Bandits 2,3, and 4 fall unconscious and hit the ground with a hard thump of limp bodies hitting dirt. Unfortunately, so does Louis.
The lead bandit (1) thinks Louis just passed out from the booze or fright but will soon realize his compatriots also passed out.
Louis is unconscious for his turn. Merrick is up next.
OOC what about bandit #5? And would this be a surprise round for merrick with advantage?
