While my only encounter with the setting is DDO, I absolutely love the Eberron setting (the wiki and Keith's blog are my other sources for Eberron). I'd absolutely love for Eberron to come to 5e, especially the stuff from Xen'drik and Sarlona.
Eberron's take on alignment and monster/race backstories (i.e. scrap it all and rewrite it) is one of the main reasons I love the setting. Drow are so much cooler.
If When WotC does return to Eberron, I'd like them to adapt everything form it, even the little known stuff (e.g. the Umbragen Drow and the Daelkyr Half-blood)
I never played DDO and kind of wish I had now. It seems like a lot of people got their first taste of Khorvaire that way. And oh Sarlona...that was one of my favorite places to run a game. Especially up North with the Shifter clans...far away from the Inspired's touch. And if they do bring it to 5E I think they have no choice but to adapt the whole system. The Realms is easy...it's just D&D basic...but Eberron, with all the changes to classes and races and monsters, it's an undertaking. I would and can't wait to playtest Eberron... Wizards if you're reading this...please oh, please give us Eberron...lol

Touche! Everyone can agree that there are few things cooler than being an endangered robot species with a soul. Plus don't forget you can be a construct type.
*Sigh*
I miss Eberron.
Fixed that for you lol :P
*sigh*
I do too...

DDO - still available, FTP, through Steam. Aging, true... tons of loading screens...true. But, the dungeon crawls - totally awesome! :)
The setting, in DDO, is strictly Xen'Drix - specifically Stormreach. (For the Eberron portion that is - they went 'Realms' on us when Neverwinter came out.) :p
- note: You may get out into Xen'Drik, but its only through instances that are strictly dungeon mode - log out and the travelers curse has you back in Stormreach. ;)

DDO was my main source for Eberron and got me into that world. I mean, mostly everything (drow, giants, Droaam) in my custom campaign world is based off Eberron. Just not the orcs. My orcs are from Middle-Earth. Also, if you do want to play DDO, you might catch me on the servers. (Orien and Sarlona).
I ran an Eberron campaign that lasted 3+ years, it's still my favourite experience GM/DMing a game of any system or setting just because the group of players was so good. Super good role players who get serious about roleplaying are so rare, and a bunch of 'em at once?! The most precious resource on Earth.
Here's some art of the characters from the beginning of the campaign, and then nearish to the second to last arc of the campaign (note: some players had changed characters by that point either because of character death or in-character RP reasons for an earlier character to leave their guild). I commissioned a good friend of mine to do these and presented them as posters to each of my players at the end of the campaign (it was a secret, none of them knew I was doing it until I handed out the posters). They formed in Sharn and called themselves Uxthurirl, Draconic for "The Platinum Brotherhood" (if you look it up in the 3.5 Draconomicon, it's actually Platinum Comrades, which I like even more, but hey I'm just the DM, they're the boss when it comes to player-made stuff).
If you haven't seen it, there's a countdown clock that seems to point to a Planescape release, so this is at least a sign that they are working on worlds other than Forgotten Realms.
I haven't played in Eberron, but in my first real game of D&D, someone played a Warforged monk. That image of a big figure made of wood and metal darting across the battlefield has been branded in my brain ever since.

It appears to be a countdown for a new D&D Game from Beamdog... Getting away from the Sword Coast may give some indication as to WoTCs next steps though. :)

It's actually an Enhanced Edition of Planescape: Torment, just like the Baldur's Gate series.
If it sells well, it could help convince WotC that there's a large enough market for non-Realmslore additions to 5E.
I just hope they don't screw it up. P:T is an icon.

This is definitely PS:T EE, and they are already working on BG III as a 5e game. They haven't explicitly said as much, but they've dropped enough clues and hints over the last year to make it pretty clear that's happening. David Gaider left BioWare to work with Beamdog on the next of his Baldur's Babies, not to work on an EE of PS:T lmao
that said I'm SOOO looking forward to PS:T EE and am gonna pick it up on GOG as soon as it comes out, pre-order it if they let me
I mean, that's cool and all but do y'all really think if this does well it will lead to an Eberron Campaign setting? I've never played any of these video games before so I really don't have much else to add to the conversation other than whatever gets us closer to having Eberron in our hands I am down for. lol

I've enjoyed Beamdog's Enhanced Baldurs Gate on iOS.
Having said that... I would not purchase another until they show love to multi-player. :) The fact is that they never fixed the first edition, and I read on the forums they had the same issues with Baldur's Gate 2, for iOS, regarding multiplayer. It would crash with every save. :) (Stopped me from purchasing Baldurs Gate 2 and IceWindDale.)
MP plays just fine since the 2.1 Patch, and they're on 2.3 or 2.4 now I think?

Nope, I don't think they're going to do an ECS although I wish they would. I have a feeling they're either a) going to keep doing the big adventure release per setting, like they just did with Ravenloft, or possibly b) they might be into doing an actual core campaign setting book per setting going forward if people made a big enough stink about an adventure per setting not being enough, but really I don't think the sales of a video game are going to impact that business decision one way or another for any setting, Planescape or Eberron or whatever else. WotC ≠ companies they licence to make D&D video games.

Interestingly enough, Neverwinter MMO always releases a new update which the material coincides with the latest tabletop campaign. This is not exclusive to just them - Sword Coast Legends was following the same track, in terms of following what the tabletop was doing.
Now, seeing that they went Realms, specifically Sword Coast, due to the popularity, in peoples minds, connected to older D&D video games - it could stand to reason that they are using this opportunity with Beamdog to introduce a new campaign world.
Consider this: Neverwinter isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I agree that any future releases that are not Realms specific, will be limited to one source book, and not dragged out, as the Realms was. Therefore doing a smaller scale game, may work with their business model.
And, if they ever go Ebberon - maybe they can finally revamp that game and truly let us explore Xen'Drik - or the World of Ebberon. (It would be too huge of a project for them - especially with the state of MMOs.)
I guarantee you that outside of the PS: T EE, which will be 2nd edition just like the rest of the EEs they've done so far (ID2 EE would be 3rd edition just like the original was once they get around to it), Beamdog is not doing any non-Forgotten Realms D&D games any time soon. I'm a regular on their forums, it's highly unlikely we're even going to see the ID2 EE and BG III get released within the next year, which are both FR, and PS:T is not 5e. If Beamdog (or some other company WotC licences) does another setting in 5e D&D I would, frankly, be really surprised to see it even announced within the next 5 years, much less released.
There's pie in the sky wishes, and there's the practical reality. I also wish there was a broader diversity of non-FR 5e RPGs out there, both in tabletop and video game form. It's just really unlikely without a big clamouring of consumer demand, and so far that demand is not united enough under any one non-FR setting for WotC (or, frankly, video game companies) to care about it. That won't change until the accumulation of capital from consumers isn't the primary focus of economic organizations (like tabletop and video game corporations) in both national and global economies, so the demand is going to have to be there unless you want to bring about an anti-capitalist revolution lmao

Adding my voice to call for Eberron's return. A small advance to the narrative is nice and would be welcome. I don't really want answers to the Mournlands and other mysteries of Eberron. What I would like for those is how the people of Eberron are interacting and dealing with them. Maybe even more conspiracy theories for these things.
I am currently running a game in Eberron in the Lhazar Principalities. The players are new to Eberron and still getting used to 5e rules so I started them off castaway on an island with Dakani defendants and ruins. A Dakani civilization built around Egyptian and meso-American cultures with an elemental focused religion. As I'm pulling pieces from Princes of the Apocalypse that I liked and want to use later on. The intention is they will escape the island and then they need to find/acquire a new vessel. Then go and recover the sunken treasure. That's when I'll really introduce those great Eberron elements, (dragonmarked houses, elemental ships, and such).
