It kind of depends what you are looking for, but Curse of Strahd is one of my favorites. I really enjoyed it both when I played through it and when I ran it.
Also, the starter campaign was good too, especially for a new DM. It’s called the lost mines of phandelver.
Agree with both of these, although there's a LOT of material in COS. Ghosts of Saltmarsh and Tales From the Yawning Portal are both full of old school dungeon crawls and small self-contained adventures.
I enjoyed the myriad of options from Waterdeep: Dragonheist. There were elements in it that gave you a familiar sense of older model games but with the right DM quirks kept you on your toes and guessing what was next.
As far as what I think is the best, I don't have one favorite prewritten anymore. I'm very excited about the potential Descent into Avernus offers though.
I don't know...people told me the same about Out of the Abyss and I've been running it without any major issue. I think it really depends on the person and their willingness to dedicate time for sessions preps.

Adventures like Dragon of Icespire Peak and Lost Mine of Phandelver are made to be played by new and experienced players alike, but if heard that lost mines have some very difficult parts which can result in tpks.
I would start with Hoard of the Dragon Queen. I started off D&D with 4e, but I heard about 5e and decided it was better. I got a group together and we started with Hoard of the Dragon Queen. We plan to do Rise of Tiamat at next. Also, Tales from the Yawning Portal is good too, because it takes you all the way to level 14 I think. Stupid autocorrect. Made Tiamat into Town for awhile.
A lot of people say that Curse of Strahd's the best, and I know a few people who have said that Storm King's Thunder is also really good. I'm actually playing STK with a new DM. The issue with it though is apparently the first chapter's kind of weirdly written, so I don't know how good it is for someone who's super new.
I've ran Hoard of the Dragon Queen/ Rise of Tiamat myself. It's a fairly easy adventure to run, as their pretty much broken into little chunks. However, they're not really the best adventures. HoDQ/RoT were pretty much the first things written for 5E, so they can be a little wonky in places. But they can work well if you have the right party and can figure out a way to make things run smoothly.
I think I agree with other posters that Lost Mine of Phandelver is probably the best to run first (I've played it a few time, never DMed it, though). It's pretty short and has a good mix of mystery RP stuff and dungeon crawling.
Curse of Strahd is a great adventure. The book is really inconveniently laid-out, though. You'll wind up doing a TON of flipping back and forth through the book for all kinds of stuff. (Unless you run it by DDB and can just use the hyperlinks and open a bunch of extra tabs...)
Haven’t played it yet, but I just did my first read through of Descent and love it. Seems to have an excellent flow as far as a timeline goes, which some might consider railroading but I’m guessing that isn’t always terrible for a new DM. Storyline is epic too.
Honestly, I've been prepping the Acq Inc into adventure (Orrery of the Wanderer) and it has a TON of fun elements in it, a good diversity of playstyles (it should check everyone's boxes as a player) and it's really well laid-out.
