Rubahak, pretty much anything I would say in response to you would be found in my response to Conn_Eramon, since you're saying basically the same thing for the most part and even use similar phrases. You may as well just be one person.
I will say you're a hypocrite. You say Liam was not "really" playing a Paladin based on how he roleplayed, suggesting it did not fit what you expected (a holy spy being an example given) but now say people breaking expectations is a good and something you do yourself. Make up your mind. He played Paladin in his own way, a way the rest of the cast recognised. So he did play Paladin in RP terms. And he used the features every chance he got, so he played it mechanically too. So, not unreasonable for me to be confused by you saying his playing of paladin doesn't count.
And your particular opinion of how multiclassing should be is irrelevant and not shared by D&D community, the cast or the rules. Multiclass literally means "more than one class", taking a second class is the exact same thing as multiclassing. It's what multiclassing is: to take a second, third, etc class on top of your first. Why you want to and how you use those new class levels is of course going to vary by player. You are not wrong to think how you think about multiclassing/taking levels of a different class. But it is not fair to use it as justification for saying Liam's playing of paladin was not "really" playing paladin. And if you're not using it as justification then I understand even less on why you're mentioning this at all because it otherwise has no relevance to this discussion on "has anyone taken paladin".
Actually, I’m not being a hypocrite. I’m making a distinction based on semantics. You are right that technically what he did was multi-class, as that’s the mechanical application. What I said is that it FEELS to me like Liam augmented his rogue with paladin, because it FEELS like he still played primarily like a rogue, and the paladin aspect augmented the rogue. This works in direct parallel with how YOU feel Con_Eremon and I feel. That’s why I said that paladin wasn’t really taken. It was used, but not taken, if that makes any sense to you. That’s just how I feel, and no amount of you getting upset will change that. I’m quite sure that Liam would say that’s a perfectly acceptable feeling, because it’s MY feeling.
Also, just because you’re being hung up on technicalities, Liam took a level of Druid at the last level as a connection with Keyleth, so he’s really 13/6/1.
edit: Also, saying you got angry twice like that is like saying you only got in two fights in your life, but you sent the other person to the hospital both times. You went from 0-60 in like 0.3 seconds, which is why we told you to chill. We expressed ourselves and you unleashed the dogs of war that was unnecessary for the situation.
I am confused. Wasn't the Crit Role thread titled: "How do you want to discuss this?" I ask because I am hoping so. This thread seems to be in the need of a DM to ask for participants to role for initiative.

Dude! Is that a part of DDB that I'm not aware of? Can we dice roll through DDB? How did you do that? That's awesome!
edit: disregard. I just saw how. That's still pretty cool.

I'm not exactly sure why you chose to go with -2 on initiative, but I'm going to go with my halfling's stats (https://ddb.ac/characters/2709905/XMEmJS) that I'm using on my streamed game, so here it goes:
I based on real me - who has the reflexes and speed of a legless tortoise.
Your roll was better than mine. T_T

Before the mods get pissy I should probably post something relevant to topic.
Suma Lee was brilliant as Nila. She played the role really well and brought a quaint happiness to it despite the dire circumstances of why she's joining the Mighty Nein (albeit temporarily). It very much seems like the fan theories are correct and Lorenzo may be an Oni. My favourite scene, though, was Keg's apology. XD
Looking forward to the next episode and hopefully seeing what Taliesin's new character will be. Since they're planning to hire help it would be easy to make his character one of the hirelings who then decides to stick around with the group.

My theory is that he's one of the prisoners. It's easily the most convenient way to drop in a new character in a way that's very natural, and it's for sure what I would do. I'm wondering if he's going to take one of the new Eberron races. I guess the question is more if Matt would let him take them, since Taliensin is all about the new, and those might pose a new option for him. I'm not going to lie, I wish I had the opportunity to play a warforged (probably a gunslinger). As far as class, it's anyone's guess. From the interview I saw that they coincidentally put up right after Molly died, I got the sense that he was enjoying going martial, so it's not unreasonable for him to be more tank-y this time around. That being said, they put character before class, so it's anybody's guess. At least it's almost Thursday, and if he really is one of the captured slaves then we'll find out soon.
I believe that Taliesin made the character prior to Eberron being dropped. He had the character idea at 4am Friday morning after the death (from last night's Talks Machina), and had art for it by the following Talks Machina (last week). Apparently they also got close to meeting his character more than once, as Taliesin was watching from the lobby and kept getting excited that it was almost time...
Based on that, I feel like he'll probably be in Shady Creek Run, as someone they can pick up as an ally next episode, as he wouldn't have had that many close calls if he were in the Sour Nest.

I thought about him being in town. I haven't watched the panel on Talks last night, yet (was busy working on other things, unfortunately), so I'm limited in my knowledge-base. I also kinda assumed that those guys have early access to all the D&D Beyond content, or at least Bad Eye may have given them a heads up about it coming out, but you know what happens when you make an assumption: you make an ash out of you and umption.
Well, of all the comments I saw floating about I didn't see anyone come close to what Taliesin chose.
Nope. Not even close. I didn't think he'd go cleric for sure. Like, that was the first one I dismissed out of hand. I'm personally in favor of a couple of clerics for a 7 player party. One cleric for every 4 players isn't a bad ratio. If I had that big of a party with mostly new players, that's a bit of advice I'd give. Make sure you have enough full healers, whether they're a cleric, a druid, a divine soul sorcerer, or whatever. That being said, I already love Taliesin's new character more than I did Mollymauk. In a party full of high-strung fighters, having The Dude is the prerfect thing to have. If I had the money, I would give Taliesin a million dollars to subtly sneak in a comment about how his rug really tied the room together.
What would be interesting? That Molly's corpse is actually a cursed item and the last person to kill the previous host takes over that body when they die a violent death. Get ready for Evil Oni Molly.
I don't know if I should be happy for the Nein and their allies, or sad for Matt losing what he'd planned to be a recurring antagonist.
Is it Thursday yet?
It was a good episode, made all the more amusing because of Matt's reaction at the end haha As a DM, I sympathize.
He definitely wanted Lorenzo to be a recurring villain and had wanted him to escape but he made a tactical error (not flying back up to ceiling out of melee range) and not picking up on Marisha's mistake of using 2 bonus actions in a turn. However, mistakes happen and trying to manage what you can do in a turn can be difficult when you have a lot of options like Monks and Oni do and when you're DM trying to manage everything. I've only been a DM for two sessions now and it's a lot harder than most would think. T_T
It was an awesome episode though and OMG onion-cutting-ninjas moment at Nott's "Case Closed" and even at the start I nearly choked on air when Sam came out. O_O

If Solo has taught me anything (sorry, I wasn't able to get to it until yesterday), there's always someone higher in the food chain. Even if the benefactors of the Mighty Nein aren't going to be connected, that doesn't mean that whoever Lorenzo's boss is isn't going to take notice. Their new big bad could be that person/organization, which they'd have to contend with. It would be really cool to be the target of someone way outside their league. I'm not sure if Matt Mercer has concidered it, but it's not a bad idea.

The Iron Shepherds were employed by one of the families that control Shady Creek Run. Ophelia Mardun asked them to take out the Iron Shepherds in order to weaken that family without it being connected back to her. So it is entirely possible that family (can't remember the name) will find out its the Mighty Nein and want revenge. Could be something that comes back to them later. I imagine right now we'll see them return to Ophelia then back to Zadash to see the Gentleman and get their pay (and probably a level up).
Depending on whether any of the previously missing party members' players can rejoin the game this week, the Nein might decide to stay and further explore Shady Creek Run a little while their friends recover.
