I really think Yasha should have saved the gold she spent on getting the bracers enchanted and bought some half-plate armor. I'm not sure culturally if her tribe wears metal armor, but it would have been roleplayed as breaking with her cultural norms since she ran away from her society. It would have given her an AC of 17 and a huge discount in overall cost. In the future. if she wanted bracers of defense and bumped her con/dex ASI, she could have dumped the armor then and purchased bracers when the 9 were more financially stable. She just dropped a boatload of money with nothing to show for it, I feel she was listening to interwebs people spouting off about, "she can't wear armor" online, whereas Barbarians do just fine in medium armor. Even a breastplate, which is like 400 gp, would have been a better option, it provides the same AC as her bracers. Or for that price, a +1 breastplate.
From a roleplay standpoint if she feels she can't or shouldn't wear armor I understand, but a tribe of barbarians that have no qualms with metal weapons and magic, but issues with armor seems a bit odd.
That wouldn’t make any sense, as that would hamstring a lot of her barbarian class features. 17 AC isn’t as valuable as half damage, extra damage die, and advantage on strength checks. Even wearing light or medium armor means she can’t add con to her ac, and most barbarians put their highest stats in str and con, so a minor bump in outside ac doesn’t help as much as increasing con to boost ac and be a giant meat shield. Not to mention the Barbarian capstone is one of the best out there, so you want your focus on those two stats, anyway.

Have you read the barbarian class in the PHB? Nowhere does it handicap them for wearing Medium Armor. They can't do anything in heavy armor, which Half-plate is medium armor. They still get Rage, Reckless Attack, Danger Sense, Fast Movement, so on, they can't do these things in heavy armor and I never suggested heavy armor.. They only thing they lose is Unarmored Defense, a breastplate or half-plate in her case would be better than Unarmored Defense. She has spent 2 ASI's on feats, her con and dex are still 14, which is +2. (14ac with unarmored defense) If her con or dex were higher then go unarmored defense and bracers, but at her current stat block, armor is a better/cheaper option. By 20th if she spends her remaining ASI's bumping stats, then sure, drop the armor.
Unfortunately if you put armor on a barbarian, you might as well have made a fighter instead.
She should have switched to a one handed weapon and shield. Would have been much cheaper and would not have to wait 10 weeks
How so? What do they lose if they put armor on which they have a proficiency in both light and medium armor given to them from creation other than unarmored defense? And why should she ditch her magical two-handed weapon for a mundane sword and shield? That is more of a loss than a gain.
It is a personal opinion and nothing more. If we are looking at it from purely a build perspective, she should have increased her CON instead of taking feats at 4th and 8th level.
Yes, the last recap article he wrote was for Episode 61. This makes room for new and different article series as Critical Role fans now have Dani Carr's Critical Recap videos.
Personally, I don't think there was much wrong with the theft of Notts flask and Jester not really knowing how to confront her about the drinking problem I think was in character after what just happened again ("I'm a crappy rogue..."). I'm curious to see where it all goes.
That's without the extra lore and stuff coming along. Look forward to watching how things progress with the main story over the next few weeks since we'll probably be losing Yasha soon again.

Yeah, people are really upset about that because it is ineffective. (But they're not really getting upset over the things the rest of the party did which is a bit of a double standard because they're all equally ineffective methods of dealing with the issue.) But I agree that it was totally in character for Jester, being that she had a very isolated and sheltered upbringing in a lot of ways. But Fjord & Caleb both buying her alcohol but withholding it is not any better or more effective than what Jester did. But the hate for Jester/Laura is ridiculous, especially what's directed at Laura directly rather than the character.

When did they reveal that Jester stole the flask? I don't remember seeing this in the episode... looks like I'll have to go back and watch again.
It makes sense that she would, trying to help Nott out by taking away the temptation, will likely have some repercussions after the adventure.

It's when they're dividing up all the loot Beau gets from the Roc's nest, after the fireball trap is set off in the tunnel they're hiding in. Laura tells Matt that's what she's gonna do while everyone else is distracted. It's quiet and she's shielding her mouth so it's super easy to miss. She rolls, Matt asks Sam for Nott's passive perception and winks at Laura. Then nothing comes up about it until Nott goes to take a drink in Bazozan. Matt doesn't say anything aloud about Laura's roll for sleight of hand.
Wow, it was super easy to miss with everything that was happening since they were taking a short rest. Sam definitely caught on as it was happening, but great as always not meta-gaming that Jester took it since Nott trusts her so much.
I'm super excited to see what happens in this abyssal temple or crypt or whatever it is. Feels like an old fashioned dungeon crawl with really high stakes!
I want to know more about Caleb's goals, Nott's plan to use a "powerful Caleb" for her own cause and Beau as a "secret agent".
I think that was my last post here about Campaign 2, so I will connect to that:
Nott's arc is pretty much done. I just want to know how Matt and Sam will end or continue it (end option: Nott goes back to her Halfling form. She and Yezza get united with Luke and they live in Port Domali; Sam wil roll a new charcater. continue option: Yeeza gets killed somehow, Nott stays a goblin and knows that Luke is safe with Shekastä)
There are a lot of options for "Imperial people" Caleb & Beau, that could still be played out.
Currently I think Matt wants to close up Yasha's arc, so she can leave again in the story for a while (when Ashley returns to NY for Blindspot). I'd rather see the "leave option" than Travis dragging her around as a secondary charcater (which was not bad, but I'd rather see Ashley be in control over Yasha as a PC and not a NPC lead by Travis).
What I currently like: + creative monsters thrown at the party by Matt Mercer + Fjord's possible shift from Ukatoa as a Patron to the Wildmother + Beau in "buddy mode"; When Marisha is shifting Beau to the "I got you back" mode (mostly for Caleb & Fjord), I really enjoy her at the moment
What I currently dislike: - The Jester/Fjord "ship" needs a clear direction; currently it is just a trope and not getting better - Power level of the characters due to the D&D Rules; Threats from "mundane" things are gone due to things like Polymorph and Monks running up and down walls; Sending and Scrying has taken away some of the "unknown", it looks awesome, but takes away the chance to identify with the character as flaws get less prominent. - I think we need a "defining moment" in the current story. it is meandering around again. I don't want anyone to die, but Molly's death was such a moment. The last big moment like that was Caleb giving the Dodecahedron to the Bright Queen in Episode 56. It has been a while and the story kind of needs something like that, IMO.

Who is more powerful?
the door or the chair?

If someone took down a door, cut it up, and then made The Chair out of it... would that make it an Undead Door? :)
What if, it was the door, barred by the chair?
Since we're not getting the episode recaps/spotlights anymore... thoughts?

I just assumed the goal is for her and Beau to match. ;)

Did James Haeck stop doing Critical Role recaps? I haven't seen one in several episodes.

So the latest episode has a bit of controversy...
