As the title says, I'm going to make a vid talking about why people should try out DnD, I'm thinking about separating it into 3 general categories.
1) What you need to play it
2) Why you should play it
3) How you can play it.
For 1) I'll just say pen and paper, and some dice, but since you can use apps for nearly everything now maybe not even that, as the minimum, will also talk about starter set and such.
And then just go on from there.
Is there anything in particular you guys feel like I *NEED* to talk about?
A few thoughts from someone who played D&D relentlessly years ago as a teen and who is now revisiting the game as a slightly more seasoned adult...
Regarding what you need to play, I would suggest that (beyond the physical components you mention) a person should have a willingness to do some reading and research (in short, be prepared to be a student of the game). Investing the time to learn about the D&D universe can pay some rather significant dividends in regards to making the game more enjoyable.
Regarding why you should play, I would say the following:
The face-to-face interactions and camaraderie can be extremely enjoyable. I'm finding this to be true even through the play-by-post game that I've created here at DnD Beyond.
Everyone loves a good story, and RPG's are precisely that: wonderful opportunities for everyone (not just the DM) to play a part in creating a memorable tale.
Hey guys.
