My friend, Mishlof, is DMing a Homebrew campaign based on the D20 Modern system called Shadow Streets. It is in more of an episodic format, and follows members of an organization called Shadow Streets as they try to investigate supernatural things and take care of them if need be. So far, there's only been three regular characters (and he's been asking more people if they want to join). It airs Saturdays at 1pm EST (UTC -5) on Mishlof's Twitch channel (see link above) and is uploaded later to his YouTube channel (see links below). This show also allows chat to get involved by making up hunters who can sometimes go along on investigations if the need calls them. They don't RP these characters, and they don't have much depth to them, but they are designed and somewhat controlled by the people in chat who made them.
The story so far:
Before episode 1, there had been an incident during a fundraiser that this company had organized. Most people who were present can't really remember what happened, but most people were showing signs of concussions and a few bruises and what not from what they assume was them hitting walls or maybe tables and chairs. People also went missing entirely and have yet to be found. Because of this fiasco, the organization lost its contract with the city (but still has some licenses through the state, and through its offices in other locations, like London), and the company doesn't know exactly how to move forward because their director/boss was one of the people who went missing.
Episode 1 starts with three characters meeting up at the Shadow Streets office about six months after the fundraising incident. Liz, the (very rich) businesswoman and charismatic bullshitter, a man with the alias Rabbit, who is a gun lover and ex-military combat specialist, and JK Trowling (trolling), a writer who thought it would be interesting to get involved with the company because it might give her inspiration for new books. The secretary, Betty, has managed to make a contact with one of the new guards at the building where the fundraiser had taken place. The three are to go there and see if they can find any clues as to what caused the commotion, but also if they could get any leads on where the boss went. After some jump scares from a ghost, some constructs with guns, a dimensional horror, and a floor tile being used as a prayer slip, they managed to leave in one piece. Though, the gun bunny did think it was best to throw an incendiary grenade as they were leaving- just in case.
Episode 2 features Rabbit and Trowling sitting in the office with Betty and getting informed on just how much damage an incendiary grenade can cause, researching their leads, and then scoping out a location in the woods. Avoiding cameras, mines, and wards, they manage to make it inside the cabin and search around a bit, find a spellbook, and learn about the monster in the basement.
Episode 3 mainly focuses on Trowling while Rabbit collects the hunters and gets them armed. She goes to check out an apartment in the Greek district that is reportedly haunted. The woman in the apartment claimed that something was haunting her and even harassing her in her dreams. Trowling kinda' makes up for the really good rolls from Episode 2, but starts to figure out what's happening.
It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but if it interests anyone, there's some videos for you, and you can contact Mishlof if you'd like to try joining the game as a full character or a hunter.
