Does anyone on here watch on Alpha? I've tried to on several occasions, but it doesn't work so well for me, so I have to watch on Twitch when it's live.

I have watched on Alpha previously, but I often watch live with friends over the internet, and Alpha has a pretty significant delay behind the Twitch stream, so I default to Twitch. There's also the benefit of immediate VOD on Twitch, so I really just keep Alpha around for the extra Talks Machina streams and the occasional extra thing any CritRole cast member may do on the service.
I will watch previous episodes on Alpha, though; they edit out the mid-stream ads, which I think is pretty cool.

In my run game I have my own shop keeper similar to Gilmore. Wyden's Wonderous Wares is of course a parody of Gilmore's Glorious Goods, with its own Wizard vendor. Of course he could never be able to match Gilmore's charm and charisma!

True! But I wouldnt want to directly copy! Plus we all know sorcerers need high Charisma. Explains a lot about Gilmore ;-)
Who else has been a Critter since the launch of the G&S Twitch channel? I remember the 48-hour launch of the channel and watching the first episode of Critical Role live.
So good to see fellow critters here, hello everyone! I'm unfortunately waaay behind as I started watching around Christmas. I'm currently only on episode 38, and hoping that one beautiful day I'll catch up to the live streams
You can do it! I think I found out about Critical Role around episode 51-52, and I used my YouTube Red trial to mainline 50-something episodes in three weeks, listening to it podcast style. What's been your favorite moment so far?
Listening to it podcast style is a good idea!
Oh wow, so many great moments. I think their battle with that church door was hilarious, I laughed so hard at that. I was also delighted by the black powder merchant in Vasselheim, Matt Mercer has an amazing voice range. I was also sitting at the edge of my seat during the last battle with the Briarwoods. Haha, and so many other great moments but I can hardly list them all.
Lol if you like the merchant, you should look up halloween pictures of him. Hilariously, and beautifully, done. I was in your shoes, I just caught up now with Episode 90. I binged 90 episodes since.... end of January I think? Great show and all great moments! I loved the flying cows episode, everything about that had me busting out laughing (Had to look it up to make sure you had gotten past that)
I don't know what it is about this show that makes it so damn addictive! Worst yet I find my self spending hours of my life watching the on you tube talking at conventions or filming themselves opening great gifts from the community! Just can't get enough lol 😂

She is a formidable one,” he said when Jarlaxle appeared at his side a moment later. “Dangerous and full of fire,” Jarlaxle agreed. “I might have to kill her.” “I might have to bed her.

I love that this thread is here. I'm new to DnD and just started watching Critical Role from the beginning. Just finished the second episode of the Trial of the Take and I love the series and all of it's characters. I'm super biased towards Travis's character Grog. All around badass!

I was watching that and heard about the D&D and said " cool D&D" I was watching Rollplay: Swan Song at the time so checked out the nerdy ass voice actors!
What makes Critical Role so great? I would refer you to Patrick Rothfuss' 'The Name of the Wind,' wherin Kvothe talks about his early life w/ the performing Edema Ruh troupe: "...nothing is so grand as a troupe showing off for one another..."

Totally agree! Name of the Wind is a great book, especially if you like in depth world building similar to what Mercer has done with his own world.

And Patrick Rothfuss makes an appearance in the stream at some point in the future if you're behind... no spoilers though ;D

Patrick's character is great. He's a top role player. Really allows some great character building moments for several members.
So far no... inspired... by VM characters in my collection.
I mean, yeah, someday I'll probably have a Half-elf rogue... but that's because I want to make a charming swashbuckler.
I think my druid is the only character directly inspired by Critical Role, but she's not a half-elf.
My rogue is an Assassin, and it's hard to not turn her into a Vax, but she's nowhere near as impulsive as he is.
