I have just today stumbled upon the new series of Acquisitions Incorporated where a new group named the C Team will be playing as a franchise company in the same world as the 'main' characters.
The only thing I'd like to ask is what all of you think of the first episode of that series.
I enjoyed it, but I'm a loyalist. It will take a while for the characters to come alive properly and the players to get used to each other. I do think Jerry forces his perspective of the characters on the players (and us) too much, it would be nice to hear how the characters kill something from the players rather than the DM. I understand in a very limited time slot he has to push things forward a little and the first game (The first few) the plot needs to get pushed forward but eventually I'd like to see more player adjacency in the future.
The camera changing angle was a bit jumpy and flickery but hey over all the production value is pretty damn good.
I've listened to/watched all the acq-inc games over the years. Often good fun. I haven't had the chance to get into Critical Role, their format is too busy for my tastes at first glance.
Jerry does a good job with setting, NPC, worldbuilding. The whole premise is hilarious, and has been since day 1. I agree with UnlileyNZ that he tends to speak on behalf of characters too much for little things, though it's been a feature of Acq Inc that the GM has massive liberties with character backstories since their intentionally created to be vague for that purpose.
The C team crew seems to have a hard time avoiding laughing at their own jokes, which is a little distracting when you compound with how soft many of their voices are. I hope they can do something about the audio levels in that regard, as I am more able to listen to it rather than watch.
Characters are neat, but Ryan's dragonborn something either didn't have much airtime, or hasn't had a chance to showcase that character's personality like the other players have.
Above and beyond all of those things, my biggest complaint is that THE ACQ-INC BRANDED DICE BAG HAS BEEN SOLD OUT SINCE LAUNCH AND THEY REMOVED IT FROM THE STORE PAGE RATHER THAN RESTOCK! I wanted one, dammit.
While I was a loyalist to the original, I was skeptical at first. I know none of these people outside of Jerry Holkins. That said, I greatly enjoyed it. The narrative elements were great, the mechanical elements were fun, overall good show.
I just watched the first episode last night. I enjoyed it well enough, and like it was said above, I'm sure it will just take some time for things to get to a point of comfort for everyone involved.

I'll give it a second chance but the first episode dragged. I think it reminded me of the old AI where they didn't know how to play. The difference being Chris is s great dm and didn't railroad the players. Jerry.... is not Chris but I want it to be good. The other thing is the only reason I got into AI games was will Wheaton and Morgan Webb after a few sessions the celebrity didn't matter. As it is right now I don't care about the characters of the people playing them. Should be more like the d team for don't care. I honest wish it was one shots with like you tubers I care about playing D&D maybe for the first time. Bug like I said I'll give it another shot.
I tried watching the second episode and just had to give up. I know Acq Inc has always played loose with the rules in favor of entertaining the crowd, but these folks...are not worth the pain of my DM senses constantly twitching. They make attack rolls for spells like dancing lights. They ignore spell slots and how advantage works. And the DM doesn't seem to know any better. In the space of two minutes he messed up grappling checks, how proficiency works, and completely forgot what the silence spell does.
I want them to succeed, but that was too painful to watch.
For now, it appears *to me* like "The Jerry Show". Perhaps with time and member experience...things will flow more evenly.

You're not wrong. Though, I don't attribute that to Jerry wanting to steal the spotlight purposefully - I think as excited as he is to host, run, create, manage and curate lore for his group, he's still stuck acting like a player at the table because that's equally fun for him. I've noticed, often, a player might make a joke, or attempt some creative solution to a problem, and Jerry essentially steals it and makes it his own. Contrast with Perkins, who would clarify situations when asked, but otherwise stay out of player-player discussions. I was caught off guard why it has taken so long for the C team members to really shine through with their character identities, compared to the Acq Inc proper; it's because nearly every action and dialogue is re-narrated by Jerry after the fact.
I'm still enjoying it though. I wish they figured out how to adjust the mic levels, since all the players are so soft-spoken, it's hard to hear them sometimes.
I tried watching a few later ones to see if things smoothed out a bit. I noticed the players have "tightened up" a bit with the playstyle...working more together. But Jerry still has his "style" that just jangles my nerves. Oh well...

DM/PC ever open to reasonable discussions
