I've not played but I've read through majority of the adventures of the seasons (and going to be throwing different pieces into my campaign). Personally I find the Tyranny Season the best. Majority of the season is tied together with recurring arcs and NPCs and is all built for brand new players. Some of the later seasons read like they require more advance knowledge to be played.
I play AL since tyranny of dragons, but my favorite seasons are the last ones.
Curse of Sthrad, because it was the first season to have Epics happen here in Europe: the italian event was an entirely new level of fun still unchallenged in my personal experience.
Also Storm King's Thunder, because chapter 3 of the hardcover adventure granted the DMs the ability to weave the DDAL modules into the hardcover campain and actually play freely long range movement from a city to another, empowering the DMs in creating an organic game experience.
