I find it almost pointless to even prep solo games sometimes. At least at first. When first starting a solo game the player could do absolutely anything. They need to be able to take charge and once they have you respond
When I run solo games I always try to keep an open line of communication with the player about their agenda as much as possible

They have a free level 4 one-shot that I'm going to try to DM. My partner always gets stuck DM'ing for our bigger group so he's going to play the PC and give me some tips while we play.

I too am interested in any published (including homebrew published) modules for 1 DM + 1 Player.

would it be possible to just wing a solo play? I mean no book with different story paths, but the player would have random encounters.
