Like it says, I'm running Tomb of Horrors for a group of friends this weekend. I have a million character sheets, item cards, and snacks. I'm a fairly new DM, so I've read the adventure inside and out. It seems like so much! Is there anything else I should be thinking about while I wrap up prep?
They might get demoralized and quit, regardless of how good you are as a DM. Tomb of Horrors isn't everyone's cup of tea. I ran it once for a group of five players. In less than four hours, seven characters died. They didn't even get to the gargoyle. So they decided to call it and recoup their losses by selling maps to the fabled Tomb of Horrors to other unsuspecting adventurers.
Anyway, I only mention it because you said you're relatively new to the game. Tomb of Horrors is a polarizing adventure, so if it doesn't go well, don't take it to heart. That said, I hope it goes great, and you and your friends have a wonderful time!
