I have created a character that relies heavily on Home-Brew Feats and Weapons. I am in need a assistance to look over my creations to help me balance them or even improve them to make them sync better. and then to find a DM with a group that is ok with a heavily Home-Brewed character.
the character is a warlock and everything revolves around the below features that i made into a single feat
Prerequisite: Warlock, worshiping Apollyon the arch fiend.
Warlocks bound by Apollyon
The Pact Boon "Pact of the Blade" is Chosen at Level 3, the Pact starts at Warlock level 1, Apollyon does not allow you to gain other Classes, all features of the "Pact of the Blade" are replaced with the Following:
Apollyon demand souls for his blessings.
Starting at level 1 you have a maximum limit of 100 Soul Power. a Pact Blade must be Created if not already. Maximum limit of Soul Power is increased by 100 at Levels 4, 8, 13, and 19.
All spells require soul power to use.
XP is gained only by feeding hearts to the talisman of Apollyon.
Pact Blade of Apollyon must be simple one handed weapons; the Pact Blade becomes a Magical weapon of the original type with the following affects:
+1 to Attack rolls and Damage rolls, or if plunged into the heart of a creature it has a +4 to Attack and Damage plus 2d8 magical Damage of the type the victim is weakest to. if the Strike to the heart kills the victim, the heart disintegrates as it is consumed by Apollyon.
Soul power and XP can be gained by feeding hearts to your patrons talisman by stabbing the hearts with the talisman. Only creatures with a minimum ability score of 8 in Intelligence and Wisdom and who have have not started rotting (recently killed) will be accepted by Apollyon. The power and XP gained from each heart is dependent on the below factors:
Living at moment of feeding to the blade (before all damage from the blade is determined); +3
Aware at moment of feeding to the blade (before all damage from the blade is determined); +1
Unharmed (retaining half maximum HP) at moment of feeding to the blade (before all damage from the blade is determined); +1
Innocent (Lawful Good, with no history of violent crime) creature; +3
Positive Wisdom Modifier of Victim; + Half of Wisdom Modifier rounded down
Positive Intelligence Modifier of Victim; +Half of Wisdom Modifier rounded down
Soul Power is used when casting spells and does not effect the power of the spells. Known spells are cast at the below expense of Soul Power:
Cantrips; 1 Soul Power, 10 free cantrips may be cast per day with no Soul Power cost
Level 1; 1 Soul Power, 4 free Level 1 spells may be cast per day with no Soul Power cost
Level 2 and above; Spells are cast with the cost being the level of the Spell, no free spells may be cast without Soul Power cost
At Warlock Level 4, 8, 13, and 19 the maximum number of Soul Power increases by 100 and the Soul Power retained by the Character increases by 80
The amount of Soul Power retained by the Character gives certain "benefits" outlined below, Apollyon only communicates to the Character through the hunger:
0, Consumed by The Hunger; the Character cannot cast any spells, the character enters a frenzied rage similar to the Barbarian rage and attacks any creatures within 60ft, Rage does not end until Character retains 25% or more Soul Power, Character must Consume hearts to re-fill their Soul Power, Feeding the hearts to the Talisman is not enough until the Character has been corrupted by eating the flesh of their victims.
25% and below, Possessed by the hunger; all Wisdom, Intelligence, Charisma rolls are done at a disadvantage and without any bonus except for spell casting, any rolls associated with spell casting are made with +4 modifier and advantage but cost twice the Soul Power, add +4 to Strength and Dexterity Modifiers, Strength and Dexterity rolls are also made at advantage.
50% and below, Driven by the Hunger; using skills that have a Wisdom, Intelligence or Charisma bonus are rolled at disadvantage and without any bonus, add +3 to Strength and Dexterity Modifiers, add +3 modifier to any spell casting associated rolls.
75% and below, Feel the Hunger; using skills that have a Wisdom, Intelligence or Charisma bonus are rolled without the bonus, add +1 to Strength and Dexterity, add +1 modifier to any spell casting associated rolls.
Above 75%, Satisfied the Hunger; you gain inspiration once you gain Soul Power above 75%, using skills that have a Wisdom, Intelligence or Charisma bonus are rolled with +2 modifier.
If the Pact Blade is lost or destroyed, the player cannot gain more soul power this way without gaining a new talisman. A new Pact Blade can only be created at a temple of Apollyon by the priest by bringing a living, innocent (Lawful Good, with now history of violent crime), and unwilling humanoid. the priest tears out the beating heart of the victim and plunges the weapon that will become the new Pact Blade into the victim and then burns the victim until only the Pact Blade remains. The player must then consume the heart to complete the binding. Upon completion of the ritual the player has maximum soul power.
