I am trying to make a Blood Sorcery subclass for the 2024 sorcerer. I am having trouble coming up with the subclass features though. Got any ideas? So here is what I have figured out about the subclass so far:
It will primarily be an offensive subclass, focusing on spell damage. Like the blood hunter and the blood-themed subclasses from Tal-Doriel, it will also focus on expending hit points to activate it's features.
Like most of the subclasses in the 2024 PHB, it will have an expanded spell list. Don't know what exact spells will be in there though, with the execption of the 3rd level spells: bestow curse and vampiric touch
3rd level feature involves spending hit points when activating Innate Sorcerey to power it up even further. The boost itself has yet to be determined.
18th level capstone feature involves regaining hit points by damaging targets while powered-up innate sorcery is active.
Cant say to the balancing, but I love the flavor of Puppeteer of The Flesh, reminds me of Bloodbending in AtLA. I think Bloodstrider is sort of… odd? As flavor goes. It’s a fine feature, probably effective especially with the bloody exit, but i just don’t see, flavor wise, how the mastery of blood manipulation would allow you to teleport. It’s still cool, though. https://routerlogin.uno/

???? How does this relate to my question or my subclass?
Expanded spell list should definitely be necromancy type. I'm actually all-for a necromancer sorcerer. Burning a hit dice instead of a sorcery point to activate innate sorcery is probably the best bet. It's an alternative that lets you save your sorcery points for meta magic.
Higher level feature could give you the option to roll hit dice for healing every time you deal necrotic damage, gaining a bonus equal to your charisma modifier.
Maybe a feature that lets you add your hit dice to the damage of your controlled undead, if you really want to focus on necromancer (or maybe killing your undead to gain health)

Playing high charisma characters with no real life charisma - the only fantasy that still eludes me.

This is actually be fine, and the buringing a hit die instead of sorcery points is a good idea!! I will keep it in mind!
But I am trying to make this subclass feel more like the Blood Magic Wizard from Tal-Doriel, which is not really about necromancy. The other 2 options simply don't match the theme of the sublcass I am going for. They however are good ideas for a separate subclass.

6th Level: Gain Empower spell metamagic for free and allow them to use it by taking 1d4 damage instead of using a sorcery point.
3rd Level: can take 1d6 damage to use Innate Sorcerery even if they have no uses remaining, or take 1d6 damage to add their Cha bonus to damage dealt with spell when Innate Sorcery is active.
14th Level: ?????
18th Level: regain hit points equal to half damage dealt by a spell 1/long rest.
