I am trying to homebrew an item for the first time since DNDBeyond switched to 2024. No one in my party, myself included, wants to switch so we are staying with 2014 rules. However I went to go homebrew a weapon based in a longsword and can't figure out how to get rid of the "weapons mastery" thing?? Is there something I can do or click or something that will use the 2014 Longsword as the base instead of the 2024 Longsword? This feels like just another way that wotc is forcing the new edition onto DNDBeyond users and I'm getting tired.
Sorry, I don't have an answer for you, just adding here that I have the same issue and I have been desperately tying to find a solution. Especially when homebrewing, I want either the ability of creating a "weapon" that is not based on any existing one, or to have the base weapon to be as "neutral" as possible.
IMO it's a pretty big bug that "Ignore Weapon Property" in the homebrew builder doesn't let you ignore "Sap" or any other weapon mastery. Hopefully they'll provide this possibility soon.

No way I’m aware of.
