I am new to making homebrew and made a Lycan-Human Species and wanted to add spells to the species. Only to find they can only get them if they are a certain spell caster. Is there a way to make the spell list appear on something like a barbarian? Or am I dreaming too much?

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Do you mean like adding the Spellcasting feature like spellcasting classes get, or to add spells like some species have, or something else entirely?

I was hoping i could just add spells to a creature without them having to be a spellcaster themselves

I understand that, but what precisely do you mean? Do you mean like tieflings get a few spells to cast per day? Or do you mean something else? Check out the tiefling species, and the new 5e24 elf species and let me know if that’s what you’re going for, or something different.
