Is it possible to make a subclass essentially remove spells from the main class that the player can choose from? For example, if I were in a homebrew setting where there is no direct interaction with the gods and spells that involve doing so are ruled to just not exist in any form, I would want to remove Augury, Divination, and Commune from my cleric's spell list. They aren't valid spells in my campaign and I don't want to just have to remember that they don't exist in this world every time I scroll through my list to prepare spells.
Is it possible to do this in any way? I'm open to any janky solutions like somehow removing the whole spell list and then adding in everything except those 3 as a feature, but I can't figure out how to do the first part.
Unfortunately, I don't think that's possible. You could manually add just the spells you wanted or entire schools of spells rather than a class list to a subclass of a class with no inherent casting, but I've never seen a way to remove a spell.
I'm running a campaign where higher level spells are rate, even to prepared caster classes, and just ask people to confirm their spell selection with me as many are off the table until they have an encounter or find a teacher for such a spell.
