Hey guys, I'm DMing for a group using DnD 5e rules, but some problems happened because of the OneDnD update.
One of them is that the Lance now deal 1d10 damage, instead of 1d12, and one of my players is not very happy with this. Does anyone know how I can make it deal 1d12 damage again?
make a custom item. That said, I'd not allow him to use mastery properties with it if he was going to get hot and bothered over the d10.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
You could give him a +1 Lance. It'd be the same average damage (2-11, average 6.5 versus 1-12, average 6.5) with a higher chance to hit. Crits would average 1 damage lower, but that's offset by the +1 to hit.
+1 is just flat out better than an extra die size. Usually when you see this, players just want to roll the bigger die, and a +1 doesn't solve that. it was likely nerfed to bring it inline with the other polearms. I'd respect the designers decision personally, and say "it's a d1o now". if the OP is dead set on returning it to d12, I'd use it exact as written in 2014, meaning no weapons mastery properties. To use the d12 I think he has to create a custom item (which isn't hard). I don't think the legacy version can be accessed anymore
