I am playing a barbarian and really wanted to look of dual weapons without sacrificing the power output of the classic PAM and GWM build.
Here is what my DM and I came up with. GWM applies to heavy weapons, none of which are one-handed so, enter the Warmace.
WarMace
-30gp
-Martial weapon
-1d8 bludgeoning
-6lb.
-Versatile (1d10)
-Heavy
-Special (must have STR score of 18 to wield one-handed)
To close off the build without having to take Fighting Initiate (Two Weapon Fighting Style) as a 3rd feat here is modified Dual Wielder Feat.
Homebrew Dual Wielder Feat
You master fighting with two weapons, gaining the following benefits:
1. You can use two-weapon fighting even when the one-handed melee weapons you are wielding aren't light.
2. You can draw or stow two one-handed weapons when you would normally be able to draw or stow only one.
You must chose between the following
Either
- You gain a +1 bonus to AC while you are wielding a separate melee weapon in each hand.
Or
- When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the bonus attack.
What do you think? Balanced or broken? Looking forward to your input.
