Anyone got some good alternative crafting rules for potions/poisons? I'm playing an alchemist (from unearthed arcana) in an ongoing campaign the DM and I both agree that the normal rules for crafting suck. I mean, what's even the point of tool expertise if I never have to make a check with alchemist's tools?
Our current solution is to do it the Critical Role way: I tell the DM what I want to make, he sets the DC, tgen I make an INT check that determines how effective it is.
I am all out of potion crafting systems but I've got an apocalyptic book coming out next month with rules for custom-built melee and ranged weapons. :D
(I'll have to put "concoctions" onto the down-the-line list)

Sorry, meant to quote TheFeebleTurtleDuck in my last post but didn't for some reason. Anyway, here's a bug: there's no way to delete a post on the mobile version.

Yeah, the main rulebook for 5e really lacks in crafting.
There are some useful pieces on DMs Guild if I recall correctly.
If you love a character, you give them pain, ruin their lives, make them suffer. Maybe even throw in a heroic death.

I don't mind this method either. I think it works very well the way it's been set up by Taleisin and Matthew. It's probably a bit more fun too.

Yeah, it's open-ended, so I can RP it as my character experimenting to create different things.

There's no way to delete posts on desktop that I've found either
