I'm creating a homebrew race on Beyond, and I want to give them an option to pick a language of the player's choice.I have it down in the editor, but I must be doing it wrong, as there's never an option listed the player can select when they create a character. I have it down as -
racial traits > options > modifiers > Modifier type (language), Modifier Subtype (choose a language)

What am I doing wrong? How does one do this?
Sometimes “choose a [whatever]” modifiers get screwy when attached to Options as part of a Race. You may need to break the race down into multiple Variant Races instead.
Is there some way to do it outside of chaining it?
Creating variant for each language option seems a bit messy, since I'm not looking to do 'pick x or y', more like 'pick anything of the category'. Any language.
What I did, which you may not like, is made each different language a separate option; manually adding each language individually. It works, but it is very time consuming.
Yep! I did "character levels when options known" and did "1,1" for two options instead of one, the only downside like I mentioned is that you need to add each language separately. The plus side is that you can tailor precisely what languages the players can choose from since there are a lot of options.

Yup, chaining a selection inside an option can have some odd results unfortunately.

...of the language? I don't think I follow.
