Caradoc glances from face to face. "Well, if we're going in, we'd better go while the sun's still high, right? I won't be able to see in the dark. Sun might give us a little light in the cave if we hurry. Plus, if we have to run, we'll have a better chance of surviving if the sun's still up when we come out."

Morgan will nod in agreement with Caradoc's statement about the light, and she'll start moving forward as stealthily as possible as soon of the rest of the group does. Once they come close to the river, she's going to keep her eyes open as she goes for any small stones she can easily carry in a pouch.
"Aye, makes sense to me." Gelin replies in as much of a whisper as he can muster. "Shall we sneak up on 'em or try to set up a bit of an ambush of our own? I've got a few tricks up my sleeve that could lure them out."
If the group is agreed that we're moving towards the cave, Caradoc will sneak along the edge of the treeline until he can see inside the cave a little bit.

"Been too easy it seems...so far."Frixori follows along with the rest of the group. As they approach the cave she clutches at the crystal hanging around her neck, preparing herself to cast a spell at a moment's notice.
Checking his weapons and muttering a prayer to Lathander the paladin moves the last one with his companions.. He waits so he doesn't give away their position with the sounds of his armor:
As the group backtracks back to the edge of the trees, they circle around the 200 yard clearing and back around to the north. As a group, they stealth fairly well. Those that have more training in moving quietly are able to assist the ones that are inherently louder.
I do group stealth like Matt Mercer: I set the DC and it is a law of average. If the group succeeds more then they fail, the group is able to move stealthily. In this case, 3 successes, 2 failures, so you all manage to move stealthily, despite having some louder players.
It takes about 20 minutes to move around to the entrance, and as you approach the mountainside, the stream is quite close to you on the left. The mouth of the cave is roughly 10 feet in size. It is clear that during the spring flooding, this stream becomes much larger and has carved out this cave over the centuries. Its babbling sounds of fast moving water is almost enough to drown out the sounds of a drum beat off to the east (right of you). It is disjointed and painful sounding to Gelin, as a professional musician, but it is clearly a beat of some sort.
As the group approaches, you see a clearing of sorts, nestled in between the mountain and the trees off to the side of the entrance to the cave. 1 goblin is banging away at its drum, while 2 others dance around a fire. 3 trout are on skewers, being cooked by the flames as they dance. They do not seem to have noticed you.
Initiaive order if you wish to enter combat (Not a requirement... just doing it in case you decide to. If you do, you have the surprise round, as they are not aware of you before combat starts.

Here is a map. I am testing stuff out to see how I can do it. The party is the 1/2 half, the gobbling is the... goblin.
Each Square in this map is 10 feet.

Caradoc glances back at the group, eyes wide and curious. He holds up three fingers, then opens and closes the fingers of one hand in a "talk?" gesture, then shrugs, then draws his finger across his throat and shrugs again.

*I say we attempt to talk first, and if that goes south then we fight,* Morgan projects to the group. *Alternatively, if we want to keep the element of surprise, we should still keep at least one alive for questioning if possible.*
DM's ruling on Morgan's attempt to collect some stones?
OOC: For simple stuff like collecting small stones (Or anything of no real value at all)... Unless you are in a place where they would not exist, you can just do it.)
Morgan gives Gelin a stern look, and immediately begins speaking Primordial while also projecting to the dwarf.
*I would assume you don't speak Primordial, and yet you can understand me now. Communication wouldn't be impossible, and we could get some much needed information.*
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Caradoc nods to Morgan, holds up one finger, then makes the "talk" handsign again. Taking a deep breath, the rogue aims for one of the dancers, and lets fly an arrow from the trees! Then he drops prone and rolls out of the way of his attacking allies!

The paladin agrees with Morgan’s plan. And then the halfling fires his shortbow. He runs towards the entrance of the cave, not to enter but to stop any gobling that want to run into the cave and warn the others if there are more inside.

A small crackling of energy appears in Frixori's empty hand, giving her answer to the potential threat.

Okay, noted.
While walking near the stream, but before the group noticed the goblins, Morgan managed to collect 4 small, mostly smooth river stones.
