Vars aims another poisoned arrow at the bugbear, "Yeah, 'cause you're gonna taste the same poison as your friend there." He nods to the goblin he'd just felled, pointing his bow at Bernard's neck and looses.
(Total damage, 26, 14 of it Radient damage) Trying to knock him out but not kill him.
( your strike knocked him out, but the Divine smite is autocrit.)
Var’s arrow flies wide as it is a difficult shot to avoid Sparhawk, before the bugbear can laugh at the poor shot and the strange mimic of his voice nearby, Sparhawk’s anger gets the best of him and he brings his sword crashing down on the seriously wounded bugbear trying to knock him unconscious, but the divine power flowing through him this time is overwhelming and crushes Bernards spine as he drops like a rock into the dirt….
there is nothing but dead silence as the bugbear exhales his last breath. Laying dead next to Eberk who is not conscious.
Bjorn as you hide behind the wagon and fake Bernard’s voice, the goblin you were trying to avoid climbs out of a crate next to the wagon and bumps into you . He will attack you with his scimitar twice.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

In your unconscious state you find yourself in a dense fog. An area begins to glow and you hear laughter and joy. As you get closer to it, the laughter takes on a sinister tone. You see before you Bernard the Bugbear. His face covered in blood and he seems twice as big as before. He is swirled his Morningstar in front of him and laughing…he says to you…” It seems your God doesn’t like you very much…ahhh hah hah ha…”
his face transforms before your eyes into the image of your God….laughing in the bugbears voice….
(Pending combat is over?? Sniper) Sparhawk reaches down to his brave friend Eberk. With his last of his energy, he Lays on hands 1 to stabilize him. (All he has left).

Eberk regains consciousness. The darkness giving way to light and the mug of Sparhawk standing over him.
you are all tired, most of you have suffered injury, but it seems you survived and have a big dead bugbear and some stolen loot as your prize.
Barnacle Ruhm strolls back into view and surveys the scene.
” well, we did it….We got that buggle bear guy, and hoooyah, look at the shining things left behind..”
A moment later, a dark tentacle sprouts from the ground near Sorsha. Similar yet darker than the ones you have all seen her use to great effect. Then another one, and another, until thirteen writhing tentacles form a circle in front of her. The middle of the circle begins to glow and the tentacles lay down, one on top of the other like grasping hands, forming a circle.
Immediately, the scent of the sea becomes strong and the earth in the center of the circle becomes the sea. Ruhm zips on over and says, “ Well, it’s been fun the boss is calling us. Has a special Task for Captain Sorsha…”
he then dives right into the water and disappears from sight.
"I've felt better, but I suppose I've felt worse." Bjorn winces. "Let's see if the minotaur left us enough to get paid." He begins sorting through the stuff that fell from the cart.
Sparhawk pulls the crossbow from his body where it was still lodged. "Nice work my friends. Somehow, our combined attack scared off that Minotaur. Let's heal up just in case our crossbow friend decides to take a few more pot shots at us." (A short or long rest might be a good idea as well)
“So much for keeping him alive,” Vars grumbles. “Oh well, better him then us.” He walks over to where his poisoned arrow landed and retrieves it, not wanting to waste such a potent weapon.
He raises an eyebrow at Rhum as the little creature disappears between the tentacles, “Boss? Sorsha, what is this about? I thought you owned that thing.”
"Sorry my friend" Sparhawk says to Vars. "I really tried to knock him out, but I was pretty upset with Eberk's situation. I thought one more well-placed blow should do it, but he moved a bit to the right to block and... You ok?, that poison was nasty stuff."
Sparhawk wipes his sword on Bernard's tunic. He searches Bernards body for anything of interest, (Weapons, items, notes, anything from red wizards, etc.) Afterwards, he will collect his javelins. "Perhaps we should search the wagon area and get our wagon. Heal up and find a defensible position to rest for a bit. We all look a bit beat up from that encounter." Sparhawk smiles, wearily.
"No sense getting upset on Bernard's behalf. Did the bounty specify alive? I no longer recall." Bjorn scratches his head in thought. "It'd be tricky, and more expensive than it's worth, but we could perhaps get him brought back alive, if it's what we have to do to get outta this contract."

" Anyone need any more healing?"
