"I've felt better, but I suppose I've felt worse." Bjorn winces. "Let's see if the minotaur left us enough to get paid." He begins sorting through the stuff that fell from the cart.
You sort through various destroyed grates and boxes that were formerly on the wagon. Most carry sundry supplies, water and such. On the travois that the Minotaur was loading you find 1 smallish chest made of wood and bound with leather and another larger chest of much higher quality make with etched metal embellishments and a locked lock. Along with the chests are miscellaneous weapons of mixed quality and some bits of armor pieces, and oddly enough, one clay figure with human eyeballs…
Sparhawk wipes his sword on Bernard's tunic. He searches Bernards body for anything of interest, (Weapons, items, notes, anything from red wizards, etc.) Afterwards, he will collect his javelins. "Perhaps we should search the wagon area and get our wagon. Heal up and find a defensible position to rest for a bit. We all look a bit beat up from that encounter." Sparhawk smiles, wearily.
On Bernards corpse you find his Morningstar, a cloak of very fine make. Inside his belt is a wax sealed letter, and on his hip is a bag filled with coins.
"Sorsha, Bjorn..." Sparhawk looks around, "take a look at this letter Bernard was carrying. It has a wax seal on it. Look familiar to anyone.?" "Haven't used one of these in a while." Sparhawk tests out the Morning Star to see how well it is made. (damage, etc.)
As the dark tentacles sprout around Sorsha and the gate opens she closes her eyes as her patron invades her mind, commanding her to obey. She then opens her eyes again looking over the rest of the crew. "This is where our journey together ends it seems, I wish you good luck my crew." She says with a quick nod before diving in after Ruhm.
Vars shrugs at Sparhawk's apology, "Understandable. I would have done the same thing. Yeah, I'm fine. Stupid goblins...but at least I know its worth carrying this poison around." He pats his pouch where he has the second vial still tucked away, then he takes a knife and scratches a mark near the nock of each of the poisoned arrows so that he can tell by feel if he's grabbing one of them.
His face hardens as he looks at the tentacles, then softens as Sorsha bids them goodby, "Good luck...Captain. May the wind be ever at your back." He stares after her for a moment before shaking his head and turning to the wreckage of the wagon.
"So... I suppose we should be worried about getting out of this blasted contract. ...but if we want to track down that minotaur, we should probably do that first."
A few moments after Sorsha leaps into the watery depths, the tentacles release their grip on each other, stand back upright and then sink slowly into the earth, which has returned to being ordinary earth. A small piece of seaweed is the thing left out of the ordinary. Goblin1 has completely disappeared from your sight and there is no indication goblin5 nor the Assassin have remained. The sky has gotten cloudier and the air a bit cooler it is time to patch your wounds and secure the treasure before any travelers happen by.
“Alright crew, let’s gather what we can here, including arrows. Some healing for the group, and then a short rest”. Sparhawk proposes. “Then let’s have a few of us get the wagon. We can throw Bernard on it with the supplies”. He stokes the stubble on his chin and rubs the crossbow wound. I suggest we rest the night and decide on our next course of action”
(Sparhawk also wants to confirm this is indeed Bernard. Does he have missing patches of fur, 3 large earrings in one ear, and a bone through his nose?)
Bjorn stares into the portal as it closes, more confused than anything. "Hm. Couldn't even wait til she got paid, eh? I suppose we ought to thank her boss. Whoever it is."
(Looking over the post history, we can bring Bernard in dead, we just get paid less.)
Sighing, Bjorn agrees. "We'll never catch the minotaur at the rate he's going, especially if he's undead -- he'll never stop to rest. But he might get stopped by something or someone else. Or maybe he'll drop the loot, or his legs will fall off or something. We can pick up his trail after we recover somewhat. Or not."
A wave of realization crashes over Bjorn, who angrily slams down the box he's examining. "Wait a minute!"
Vars snorts, "Heh, she probably did that on purpose too. Left us wondering like that." He shrugs, "Ah well, I'm still pretty sure I was right. Guess we all get to keep our coins regardless."
He begins collecting arrows, "As for our minotaur, what did he make off with? I was kind of...well unconscious for most of that so I didn't see. If it was nothing important, lets go back and settle this contract so we don't have it hanging over our heads."
"I was down as well, but I know we hurt him pretty good. Bjorn and Frangipani, did you see what happened to the Minotaur?" Sparhawk looks inquisitively at them. "Also, I agree with you Bjorn, I want this blood contract off our heads and don't want to deal with this body and these items any longer than we have to."
(I"m assuming we can take a short rest or long rest. load up the cart, take an inventory of what we have acquired as the ship takes a percentage.)

This is indeed Bernard. His ugly mug matches the description perfectly

Yes, you need to rest for sure. The one box was locked, the letter is sealed and investigation checks to inventory
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Do I need to roll something other then investigation to recover some arrows?)
Investigation: 11
Vars looks to Bjorn and Frangipani expectantly, waiting for an answer to Sparhawk's question. He also continues his search for arrows and looks around the wreckage of the wagon for anything salvageable.

Bernards Morningstar is well made and well used and does 1d8 dmg in normal hands.

"Good luck and Godspeed to you, captain." Sparhawk looks around at the others, realizing that there are indeed greater forces at work here.
Eberk solemnly nods back. “Good luck, Captain.”

( you will need to choose a new Captain and review the details of your quest, and I will post another overview map)

Eberk casts Healing Word on himself.
Heal: 5 rolled in game log
”I’ll grab the cart.” He walks off and after some time, drives the cart to the group.

Sparhawk gets into soldier mode and starts an inventory of all that they have gathered. (Investigation: 8
He is quite tired from the combat and the poison still and his head seems a bit fuzzy.
