Vars curses their luck, and the fact that he will have to thoroughly dry all of his weapons to avoid rust and ruining his bowstring. At least it didn't seem like they were going to die yet. Taking a breath, he presses on, moving up to the next bubble and so on.
If he can get in front he will...but if it seems that staying behind Lir makes it easier for the druid to create the bubbles he will stay behind him.
D20: 13
Okay, thats weird. I reloaded the page to see Frangipani's post, and it gave me the cursed red flag lol. I was going to say that it was a 13, but it seems that quoting it shows its original roll.
Vars swims 15’ upwards and into an orange current which feels like a sledgehammer knocking him downward 25’ and does 5 dmg
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(If we are kinda together, Sparhawk motion Frangipani in the front, Lir in the back to help keep the air breathers protected. Bjorn has the potion of water breathing so he's ok.)
Sparhawk will motion Frangipani to be in charge until they are out of the water. He focuses much of his strength on just keeping moving up, with the weight of his equipment and heavy armor making things difficult for him.
He continues swimming up, keeping Reginald and Vars in his sights.
Sparhawk swims hard, smack dab into the orange currents and receives the same treatment as the others, knocked back 25’ and takes 1 dmg in the process.
( maybe you will get lucky and catch a purple one next)

(turn 2)
Bjorn, watching everyone being blasted by the orange current, tries to come up with a plan. He reminds himself not to panic because he's not drowning, and focuses on observing the currents. Do they move, and is it predictable? Is there a path around the orange ones? Investigation..? 8
If he can come up with a path for anyone this turn, he'll use Minor Illusion (no verbal component, yay) to describe it to them. (The sound of his own voice, coming from the nearest spot within 30ft.) Otherwise he'll cautiously swim closer and keep analyzing the situation.
Trying to stay below the currents, but in case I can't: 3

You are unable to predict the randomly changing currents but you make a go for it and catch the blue current which seems just to be normal water. You make your full movement up unhindered
( I should have calculated your moves as a dash, but didn’t want to put words in your posts. Going forward, if you wish to dash, state that while remembering it will use your action if a random monster materializes)
so. I have Lir in the lead over the 50’ line, Bjorn at 50’, Frangipani at 30’ and Sparhawk, Vars, and Reginald at 15’.
Eelgipani heads back towards the ship....

Vars swims 15’ upwards and into an orange current which feels like a sledgehammer knocking him downward 25’ and does 5 dmg
( you have just discovered what effect the orange currents have)
Frangipani in Eek form also finds herself getting slammed by the orange current, reducing her distance by 25’ and receives 5 dmg
( Ouch...eel form is getting close to red-lining...)
14
Reginald will start swimming upward... following the rest, notes the purple and orange effects...
Cats go Moo!
Reginald makes it 15’ and gets knocked back down 25’ by the orange current that struck Vars and frangipani and takes 1 dmg.
( 3 orange strikes in a row)

Turn two -

(Lir is almost a landlubber!)
You are unable to predict the randomly changing currents but you make a go for it and catch the blue current which seems just to be normal water. You make your full movement up unhindered
Lir Also makes his full movement upwards without issue, feeling good in the fresh water.

next go.
Lir goes to use his 60 ft dash action.

Reginald will also swim as a dash action...
