This chamber is filled with dust and cobwebs and clearly has not seen visitors for sometime, other than small vermin and insects. There is a door across the way on the north wall, a stouter looking door with a lock on the eastern wall and to the right a smallish door that appears to slide in a pocket in the wall rather than hinge in or out. There are oil sconces at several locations on the walls, and what looks like an old pail and a decrepit broom in one corner.
“Ok, no undead here. “ let’s check out the sliding door and the door to the north first.”
Sparhawk is ready for some unknown beast to jump out at any moment. He takes a crowbar and lodges the first door open, so it won’t be able to close without removing it.
Sparhawk doesn’t feel the essence of evil or anything out of the ordinary, just and old unused space. As you get the light in the chamber you can see more examples of the fine, yet simple craftsmanship that went into the space. There are no furnishings or other items to clue you in on what may have been the purpose of this chamber, just the old bucket, and the three distinctly different doors.
"Well, whatever it is, they clearly didn't want visitors." Bjorn transforms his bow into a long polearm, and creeps into the chamber, tapping the floor ahead of him with the blade. He goes to light the sconces.
"I'm not that good at underground maps. Eberk, is it possible this passage goes all the way to the door on Var's map?" Sparhawk looks at the three doors. "If this goes on much further, we may want to make sure we have our cart and Bernards body hidden and secure, so no one scampers off with it. What do you all think?"
"I agree," Vars says. "I was actually going to suggest the same thing. We don't know how far any of these doors lead, so it would be better to be prepared. I don't think it would be to difficult to drag the body into this room, though we should probably wrap it up and do something to discourage scavengers from finding it."
"Yes, and if needed, with Bjorn's help," Sparhawk winks at him, but hopes he doesn't see it in the dark room, "we can take some of the wheels off the wagon so it can't be taken easily." He looks at the group: "Sometimes, large doors with locks are designed to keep people out. Other times, they are designed to keep something in. Any ideas on how to assess what's behind that door as we explore these other two?"
"That's a good idea as well," Vars replies. "We don't need anyone making off with our wagon." He squints at the large door, "Hmm, I'll take a look at it." He strides over to the large door and inspects it, looking for anything that would indicate whether its reinforced on this side to keep something from breaking out. Or, indications that it is just an ordinary door meant to keep people out.
It is difficult to tell, the door is solidly built, has iron straps securing the planks together. The hinges seem made to swing inward towards this chamber. All in all it seems to be able to both prevent entry and egress. You do notice a slight scent of damp air coming from underneath the door.
The added light from the wall sconces really transforms this space from a dark and dank chamber to an almost homey type feel. You get the feeling at one time it may have contained some furnishings and a carpet or two.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Good idea," Bjorn agrees, and heads back to the wagon. He'll unload everything but the tents (provided it's still here!) and bring it inside the cave, and he'll bring the magic box and Bernard further in, past the door. This probably takes several minutes.
If it seems like Iron-ass would fit through the cave opening, he'll try to get the beast to come in, out of the view of possible goblins or predators. Animal handling (he's not good at this lol): 15
At the same time, Sparhawk will try to disable the wagon so it can't be moved easily (I'm picturing wooden pins that hold the wheels in place, so remove the pin, lift wagon, remove wheel). "Once we are confident in the items being further hidden and secure, lets continue this little excursion."
"Can't really tell much from this door. All and all whoever put it here doesn't seem like they wanted anyone going in or out of it..." Vars shakes his head. "It also smells kind of damp, but that could just be age."

The entrance is large enough for the donkey and they are adept at maneuvers in a variety of terrain. Bjorn and the animal seem to have formed a good bond and it follows him inside full of trust. After a little time, you get your belongings safely inside the hallway ( the pit would prevent further movement of the donkey and larger stuff, unless you choose to craft something to provide further movement into the main chamber.
“No, but maybe what is behind the door. We can take a look at the two unlocked doors and then take a crack at this lock. Bjorn, do you have any little friends you can talk with behind that door”
”can anyone else get any read on what is ahead of us”
Sparhawk makes sure the donkey is secured and won't fall into the pit if he advances toward it.
"Ok, let's get these door open. How about we do one at a time so as to not get too spread out." Sparhawk looks at the group. Just be ready for a trap, so no one is directly in front of the door please." "Frangipani, friends, be ready but I don't expect much in this one." Sparhawk assesses which way it slides, puts the point of his battle axe on the door, and begins to push, standing to the side of the door near the wall.

“Nicely done Vars. Hold a moment”

Sparhawk is ready for some unknown beast to jump out at any moment. He takes a crowbar and lodges the first door open, so it won’t be able to close without removing it.

There are no furnishings or other items to clue you in on what may have been the purpose of this chamber, just the old bucket, and the three distinctly different doors.
Eberk looks around the room and examines the craftsmanship, trying to determine who may have built the structure.
History: 11+4 for Stonecunning =15
The stonework is definitely from dwarvin hands, likely a relative of the dwarves from Mirabar. This space might even predate the city, hard to tell.
“This is Dwarven built, that is sure. However, I don’t know what in Selûne’s name it actually is.”
"Well, whatever it is, they clearly didn't want visitors." Bjorn transforms his bow into a long polearm, and creeps into the chamber, tapping the floor ahead of him with the blade. He goes to light the sconces.

It is difficult to tell, the door is solidly built, has iron straps securing the planks together. The hinges seem made to swing inward towards this chamber. All in all it seems to be able to both prevent entry and egress. You do notice a slight scent of damp air coming from underneath the door.

" Should I blast the door?", Frangipani asked.
“No, but maybe what is behind the door. We can take a look at the two unlocked doors and then take a crack at this lock. Bjorn, do you have any little friends you can talk with behind that door”
