Sparhawk makes sure the donkey is secured and won't fall into the pit if he advances toward it.
"Ok, let's get these door open. How about we do one at a time so as to not get too spread out." Sparhawk looks at the group. Just be ready for a trap, so no one is directly in front of the door please." "Frangipani, friends, be ready but I don't expect much in this one." Sparhawk assesses which way it slides, puts the point of his battle axe on the door, and begins to push, standing to the side of the door near the wall.
The panel door slides open after a little coaxing. Inside is a deep shaft about 4×4 in dimensions that goes down farther than you can see. Hanging from the ceiling of this shaft is a pulley with rope that leads down into the dark abyss.
"I traded away my power to talk to rats, one night while you were sleeping. As it turns out, they only want to talk about rat things." Bjorn shrugs. "No tracks in here, and it's muddy outside. Nothing lives here, I should think."
He tucks Bernard in the corner and tries to lock the door behind him as Sparhawk tests the next one.
Bjorn inspects the pulley for rust, tugging on it to test its strength. "I don't trust this old rope. We would have to replace it with our own before I'd even think about going down there."
"I agree," Vars replies. "Though, I might even suggest not using the pulley at all. I don't like trusting something this old, especially when it hasn't been used in who knows how long. We might need to lower someone down by hand."
"And Frangipani can change shapes, so we can certainly go smaller." Sparhawk looks at her. "Lets open this second door and see what options it presents. Everyone get ready again."
Sparhawk heads to the second unlocked door (opens both ways or just one?) He will pull it inward if he can.
Opening the door, you see a staircase leading down a hallway approximately 30’ where it meets a left and right intersection. Just before the intersection is a door to the right.
"Frangipani, can you see in the dark in your cat form?" Sparhawk looks at her. He takes out a rope, and prepares to tie it securely to her. "Lets see what you can spot down this way, then I'll pull you back up. Bjorn, Vars, take a look at that lock."
Vars prepares to enter, but only draws one short sword. He wants to have at least one free hand just in case.

“Hum, maybe a well or way to bring food up from a chamber below”
“Anyone wanna go down and look or next unlocked door?”

(If it’s worth the trouble, map?)
“Shall we head down or try to open this locked door?” Sparhawk looks at the group for thoughts
”does anyone have a way of looking without us entering the area down there?”
Eberk thinks for a moment. “I have good eyesight, but that’s about it.” He looks and listens for anything concerning.
Perception: 18
Sparhawk looks at Vars, "Vars, this is your little treasure hunt, should we go down and look around or open the locked door on this floor?"
Frangipani offers to be lowered down as a cat, she won't weigh much.
Vars thinks for a moment, “Let’s look around first. Save the big door for later.”
“Let’s lower cat Frangipani down on our own rope and see what she sees”
All is quiet and you are unable to see anything in the shaft

Bjorn nods and kneels down to examine the lock. [Should we say that Vars can Help me make the check?]
[Trying to imagine tying a rope around a cat, lol. Could we lower her down in that bucket? Then she can hop out if there's space to explore below.]
