Vars tapps aimlessly on the door, waiting not so patiently for Sparhawk to give the 'okay' to open it. When the paladin pulls Frangikitty up, he turns to listen to what she found. "Anything worth checking out?"
Bjorn picks up his gold-and-silver glaive and takes up a lazy approximation of a ready stance by the door. "Let's grab whatever these dwarves were hiding."
The heavy door creaks opens, the sounds echoing through a long rough cut and curving cavern. There is a gate of iron bars blocking the the cavern after about 10’. In the wall a few feet from the bars is a lever protruding from the stone wall. The air in here is very moist and the cavern walls have a layer of moss growing on it.
Sparhawk peers beyond the metal gate, hoping to hear, see or smell anything (Darkvision).
"Hum, this does not look like part of the dwarven house." Sparhawk looks at the group. Any suggestions? We have this lever here. I'm thinking tie a rope to it and pull it from the main room in case of a trap."

Sparhawk can see the largish cavern just beyond the bars contains some crates and few barrels near the right side wall and what looks like some old mining implements.
"Right, Bjorn, can you rig up a rope to this lever and we'll pull it from the main room. I"m concerned about traps in this area." Sparhawk says, suspicious of the out of place room.

(assuming Frangikitty relates the lower levels, "Ok gang, time to open the big locked door. Is everyone ready?"
Frangipani slides back into her genasi form and relates the tediousness of downstairs.
Bjorn picks up his gold-and-silver glaive and takes up a lazy approximation of a ready stance by the door. "Let's grab whatever these dwarves were hiding."
Eberk readies his warhammer. “Ready.”
“Vars, wanna do the honors?”
(This is the door we unlocked already right?)
Vars nods, giving a wry smile, “Aye, let’s see what they’re hiding here.” And he shoves the door open.
(Yep)

" Or I could just teleport in there and pull it?"
"Interesting idea Frangipani, I'm concerned there are living creatures in this area so we should be careful. Other options?"
[To be clear, the lever is on the same side of the bars as we are? Or is it on the other side?]
[What the heck is this area? Lol]
" We eat them?"
Sparhawk can see the largish cavern just beyond the bars contains some crates and few barrels near the right side wall and what looks like some old mining implements.
Correct, it is on the same side as you are

Frangipani shrugged and backed away from the lever to watch.
"If you don't have a rope," Vars says. "I have one we can use."
He looks down the mossy corridor, "Hmm, interesting."
