This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Yes, I think Bjorn has a point, wht did you pay for that map and what is it suppose to bring you?"Sorsha says, a bit skeptical to the map Vars supposedly bought from the old man. "But of course we came after you Vars, we are a crew and we stick together, well unless someone is suddenly teleported away I suppose."She says with a quick grin as they make their way back to the house.
"Do you think the exterior is simply some kind of illusion?"She says as she goes back inside. "Okay, try not to get lost and let's go on with the investigation. We could use a fresh pair of eyes or two checking that basement."She says as she enters the kitchen, motioning to the stairwell leading down. She then moves out into the corridor aiming for the next door on the right side of the corridor, going through it as soon as someone is with her.
"Illusion seems likely. Abernath is an entertainer, and entertainment and deceit are two sides of the same coin."
Bjorn retrieves his hook from the kitchen as they pass through, taking care not to look directly at the painting. He coils the rope back up as they proceed down the stairs.
"We have a "rug", maybe on our way out, we can try throwing it over the picture and see if we can remove it from the wall without triggering the spell." Sparhawk surmises there must be some use for that dangerous carpet.

Perception: 20
As you reach for the door handle to open the door, you realize it is locked ( Sparhawk locked the door after you entered the first time)
Vars shrugs at Bjorn’s remark, “If your not interested everyone else can get a cut. I payed 3G for it, and it is supposed to lead to some large amount of treasure. The fellow wanted 5 but I convinced him to give it to me for less as long as I pay him back upon finding the treasure. If there is nothing valuable there, I’ll cut my losses. If there really is as much as he made it sound like, we should all get something out of it…” he stuffs the old map and the tube back into his cloak. “I wouldn’t have bought it if it wasn’t leading us in the direction we are already going. Maybe it was worth it, maybe not.”
When they return to find the door locked Vars runs a hand across his face, “Bloody…This is wonderful.” He rummages through his gear, “I don’t have lock picks, but I do have this.” He pulls out a crowbar, “Unless anyone has any better ideas…”
"Perhaps we can get in through a chimney or window, but I suspect the front (very strong door) is the only way to get into the magical inside we have discovered." (Can Sparhawk use arcana or deduction to confirm this idea, maybe dice roll?"

The only way to determine such a thing would be enter other than the door and find out. With wizardry, almost anything is possible
"Pretty sure the entrances we're seeing are illusory. And there may be a trap on the door, now that it's locked. I'm not going to be the one to risk getting vaporized. Maybe we leave this for now."
" We can always hire a wizard from the tower to open the door if we need to. Perhaps we should gather our supplies and being our pursuit of our bugbear friend." Sparhawk ready to pursue more outdoor adventures. "One of my mentors told me of a knock spell, which I believe would open this door correctly. I apologize for locking the front door. I always like to cover my back when entering an enclosed space."
"Don't be sorry," Vars says. "How were you supposed to know we'd all be teleported back outside?" He mutters something under his breath before saying, "If everyone else wants to wait, sure, we can wait. I'd like to get to the bottom of this, but if no one wants to risk breaking and entering...I do agree that it would be wiser to contact a wizard from the tower. Perhaps we could even get one to come back here with us so we have some sort of warning as to what is safe to touch. Maybe Irongrass would be willing to help in that regard, if he was really such great friends with this missing fellow."

Sparhawk joins her, very wary of any rogue rugs that could be lurking in the shadows. He Bravely says, "Ladies first!"

“Remember, we don’t touch anything.” Eberk heads to the basement and does a ritual for Detect Magic.
As you reach for the door handle to open the door, you realize it is locked ( Sparhawk locked the door after you entered the first time)
Someone must roll to pick the lock
"Okay, so Sparhawk, did you bring the key or how did you lock the door from the inside?" Sorsha asks the half-orc with a tired sigh.
[Oh no! I have proficiency with thieves' tools, but for some reason I don't own any!]
[Lol we locked it from the inside but we didn't leave through the door. Incredible]

"Window?" says Sparhawk, smiling at his own stupidity. He had not wanted anyone else to enter while they were searching the premises.

“I suppose I should volunteer to enter threw a window?”
Sparhawk mutters, somewhat annoyed at himself.
“Bjorn, I do agree. We may need to enter later and avoid any further external traps”

Bjorn swears he can see some beedy eyed rats peering out one of the windows for a moment, before they move away…
