Meanwhile with Sorrow's blessings, Millwater collects as many rations as he can from his companions and sets about dividing them into day and meal packs wrapped in paper. He checks his own gear 1st, then moves on to any of his companions' gear left behind to stich up fray and loose seams. After he is satisfied with everything and with good knowledge of the food available he leaves the room to find Relitha again.
Everyone splits up to go to different areas. Sorrow and the two Halflings head back south while Millwater stays in the inn. Veeshal heads over to the local church or prayer center to see a the clerics there. Tailfeathers heads North towards Seth's horses. If Tailfeathers wished to remain unseen but still get a reading off the horses I will need a investigation check from her with advantage due to Seth himself being preoccupied. If she wants to try and get closer tro see what he is preoccupied I will need a insight check.
Meanwhile Sorrow, J'nah and Festoon are soon heading to Karie's fishing spot. Once they arrive they look around for the smaller chest that was on the table in Mayors tent. As they look about they can see that many items were moved to the nearby tree line. Looking about in that area they soon spot the chest laying half covered by various small branches. Seeing that it is found Sorrow and company head back towards the inn.
Veeshal is able to speak with the clerics. They can preform what is needed to reattach the pinkie fingers of Wilbur and Amber. They would need to see and acquire the pinky finger of each. For them to preform the proper healing.
Millwater is able to go through the ration of the group to modify them and devide them up so each person is carrying some of the food for each other. Millwater has toi go to the general goods shop to replenish his spices and other items to help him cook. If he sales any of the extra pots and pans the clerk will tell him even trade otherwise Millewater will need to fork over three gold.
Is there anything else you all want to do before you head over to Emilee's place?
Vee thanks the healer and inquires for directions to the candle makers. Once there, he’ll ask about Wilbur-how he’d doing and if he could see him a minute. He’ll mention to them that they recovered a few pinkies from the bad guys and that the healers think they have the means to reattach the finger as long as it’s the right persons finger. He’ll mention he’s going to tell Emilee as well so maybe Amber can get hers reattached as well.
Millwater explains his cooking plans to Relitha, who suggests he visit the general store for the lard and additional spices needed. At the store he trades his large iron pot for the remaining ingredients and heads back to Relitha's kitchen. He helps the hurried cook catch up on orders, and makes a space to start preparing the dough, boiling the salt meats and fruits. His experience in cooking at a field hospital pays off as the workload lessens for the chef who seems interested in the pies sharing seasonings tips. After they share the 1st one out the fryer, the chef shows Millwater how to cut potatoes into very thin wafers that fry up crispy. In short order the 2 have prepared 2 days( 2 rations) worth of meat cheese fold over pies and sweet fruit pies for his companions. The pies are good for 3 days before they go bad. And a sackful of potatoe crisps.
Proud of his work and making a new friend, he takes the rations back to the room. All wrapped in paper and tied with string with the pies on top. The ration bundles are ready to go! Millwater looks around the room trying to think if he is forgetting something, nope he is ready. He decides to give Karie his fishing tackle, net and spear when he sees her and sets them aside for her. Too much stuff! Finishing his job before the others, he begins practicing his katas and forms. He takes out his surujin (whip) and begins to practice, slowly at 1st then increasing the speed til its a whirling blur incorporating his katas. WACK! Millwater wakes up on the floor rubbing his head. He is not proficient
Sorrow-her self assigned task complete-sorts the pokes so the three of them can carry them, takes a last look at the campsite. Dropping the chest, she hauls the decapitated body to the river and tosses it in. Then does the same for the rest of the bodies except for the goblins.
As she bends over to grab her portion of the load, she quickly drops to a knee, pulls a pouch open and scoops a couple double handfuls of dirt/grit into it and reties it on her belt. She then picks up her load and heads back to town.
Blessing an easy excursion to get the chest and such, Festoon is in a good mood when they arrive back at the village. Still tagging along, he watches the interactions with a keen eye, smiling and enjoying life.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Sorrow and her companions finish up in Karie's fishing spot and head back to town.
Meanwhile Veeshal has talked to the healers in the worship building. He has talked to Wilbur's family and he will talk to Amber's family a bit later tonight.
Tail feathers tries to get closer to here what is being said by Seth. As she nears Seth stops talking and turns in her direction. "Is there something I can help you with Miss? Have you come to take a look at the finest horse flesh I have here? Take a gander at the horses and when you have found one you like come back here and we can discuss prices." Turning to the two men he had been talking to he says, "Come back shortly and we will continue our discussion." He looks at Tail feathers waiting her reply. I need a perception or investigation check from tail feathers. If you go to check out the horses I will need a investigation check with advantage due to your nature.
It is around dinner time once everyone is back at the inn to tell each other what they have found out.
Millwater gets off the floor and shakes it off. He heads back down to the kitchen and starts making bread bowls for the perpetual stew. With the bread in the oven he gets busy slicing potatoes super thin. Faithfully following the chef's technique, everyone coming to the Inn tonight is getting potatoe crisps. More labor than expense, the recipe is genius.
The chef overjoyed at having some help tonight, shows Millwater how to make journey bread without an oven! The major trick is to make it upside down. So as not to burn the whole grain topping.
“Yes, I was just wanting to ask about them. Thank you for letting me go see them first” She glances at the ones with Seth before going to look over the horses available.
Sorrow goes to Relitha and quietly inquires if there is a place to pick up some worn but still serviceable clothes, small clothes as well as a cloak. Something that might be a bit tight fitting on her (Sorrow) body. Or even something a woman might get special to show for her man late at night. She’ll also ask about getting a fairly large burlap sack as well.
"This place has horses, does that mean they have glue? I made some sandpaper and resin to fix my tent leaving me running low and now I don't even have my tent with me, but I still need more sandpaper and glue for my wood crafting, as the priests of Gond would say to me, it's not all about the whittling, you gotta make something wonderous to inspire the world."
Sorrow asks the bar tender about clothes She lets her know that the general goods store may have some clothing that she is looking for. Meanwhile Tail feathers talks to Seth and then takes some time to look at his horses. He waits for her to return to discuss prices for the horses. During this time most of the companions have arrived back at the inn ready to get some food before they head out again.
The food for the evening dinner is some frsh venison along with a vegetable stew with bread. When asked about the cost Karie will tell you that it has all been paid for this includes your drinks.
A stack of bread bowls sits steaming next to a cauldron of vegetable stew. A leg of venison cooking over coals ready to be sliced to order. The sink is empty, and dishes put away. Karie takes away one of the baskets of potatoe crisps to the patrons of the inn. The chef beckons Millwater to follow him as he grabs a flask of brandy from the back of the spice rack.
He hands the flask to Millwater and packs his pipe. Millwater takes a sip (Wow! It's sweet! A cherry cordial) The chef takes back the brandy and hands the pipe to him. "Hack, cough, cough, still coughing" face turning green. The chef laughs. "Sip it like you did the brandy son"
They head back inside, Millwater sees one of his companions come in and grabs a bread bowl. He fills it up with stew and slices venison off the bone onto the top. He grabs a basket of potatoe crisps on the way out to deliver it. Excited he says "Its vegetable stew! The things that taste like chicken is a local mushroom! "
J'nah sees the food is ready and starts digging in, "So it sounds like there's some spelunking in our future. I'm used to exploring reefs and caves off the shore, places where crawly things like to hide or fish get stuck in, not sure how far to the nearest coast. I can't see in the dark but I have about 10 torches and a tinderbox for when we go in the caves, also have some trail rations, packs of jerky, hard cheese, dried fruit, tack and of course, nutbutter. I only have the one waterskin, but I'll make sure it's topped off before we leave."
Tail Feathers returns to Seth. "Very nice and happy horses there. You raise them yourself?" It is just small talk to see his reaction. She will tell Seth that she will need to talk with her companions before deciding on which, if any, will be really needed.
After a bit, she will head back to the group and talk about what everyone has found out.
Everyone arrives back to the Inn there they sit down and discuss what they have accomplished so far. Uncovering a issue with people going missing especially when voicing concerns about the village is bad enough. Knowing they are being used as slave labor at some cave somewhere south of town is bad enough but they are being systematically mutated by having their left pinkies removed. Is this where the missing shipments are located? From what Wilbur has said it could be a serious possibility. Knowing the females that have gone missing are being used as more than slaves is a harsh punishment on them. Maybe you will learn more at the meeting tonight if you still are interested in that. Otherwise it sounds like getting another good night of sleep and deciding what to do next is in order too.
What is everyone going to do now?

Seeing Seth was preoccupied and well curiosity got the best of her, she went to see.
