Do not let your guard down, even now as your goal is in your grasp, the lich says as he raises his hands to perform his spell. You will appear within the Radiant Citadel, at one of the permanent teleportation circles. When you make your wish, it would be ideal to be outside of the Citadel in a portion of the Ethereal that is more malleable and untamed than the great city. You should not need to travel far, though.
A shimmering circle, surrounded by glowing runes, appears on the ground, which will send you to the Radiant Citadel...
Duwamilly is delighted by the evocative name of the destination: "How wonderful, my Lord! I didn't think the Ethereal Plane was so interesting! I imagined it filled only with grayness and transparencies... instead a place called 'Radiant Citadel' must be very alive and colorful! I really have to find a way to go back after all this is over..."
The ex-preceptor leaps across the planes, landing in the new dimension and immediately starting to look around her... although she too is careful not to lose sight of the other Accursed.
[[ OOC: @DM: Where is it, the Teleportation Circle into which we emerge? Is it inside a building? In an open place? Are there any other creatures in sight? ]]
Yasmina too is surprised to hear about a great city on the ethereal plane but she has no reason to distrust their host, therefore, after briefly glancing over at the others, she follows the ex-preceptor into the shimmering circle surrounded by glowing runes.
The teleportation circle is in an area that has been cordoned off, presumably for new arrivals like yourselves. But not far away you can see a bustling marketplace, filled with numerous creatures of every race you can think of... and some creatures so alien that it is difficult to even comprehend their existence. Looking around, you can see more teleportation circles, from which additional creatures occasionally emerge, most of whom immediately make their way towards the marketplace.
And speaking of the marketplace, you can see numerous peddlers selling both mundane and truly unique items, many of which are probably magical. Potions are being bought and sold freely; spell scrolls traded like common scrolls. And in the center of the city you can see an absolutely enormous diamond rising from the ground... in fact, the city seems to be wrapped around the diamond in some truly amazing and otherworldly manner.
Stepping through the portal and arriving on the other side, Delvindra is awed by the breathtaking spectical. In her wildest dreams she couldn't have imagined such a place existed and now, having seen it, she's struck with an absolute resolve to never return to the monastery. If this is a sample of the wonders the planes have to offer, she wants to spend the rest of her life seeing all of it.
"It's amazing," she murmurs as her tail swishes back and forth.
"So wonderful!" Duwamilly remains speechless for a while, in front of the magnificent market "On the one hand I would like to see it all... and also ask for information about that colossal gem..." her brown eyes sparkle with the typical gnomish interest in precious stones "...but on the other hand, obviously, our task is more important" she sighs stoically. "First things first, kids. Do any of you need to buy or sell anything? If not, let's do what we came to do. Let's head out of the town and close the matter".
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The red-haired half-elf too is quite impressed with what she sees, her amber eyes taking in the astonishing city around her. She simply nods to the ex-preceptor and follows along, not having any immediate business at the market but should the accursed pass by she would not be able to resist at least scanning for security measures, trying to determine the probability of being able to help herself to something nice and beautiful, and far too expensive.
Perception: 16 Another roll if Al-Asfeh is allowed to provide help acftion: 19
Yasmina does not notice any obvious security measures such as guards on patrol. A fair number of the merchants have small private security teams, though most do not. Perhaps the people here are more trusting than elsewhere... or perhaps there are less obvious security measures in place.
Looking over the edge of the city, you can see the vast expanse of swirling mists that is the Ethereal Plane. What is the party's next move?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Delvindra stares out into the swirling mists with wide eyes.
"That's where we're going? How? Do you walk on it? Swim? Fly,"at the last thought her tail begins to swish excitedly behind her and she turns a hopeful look to Duwamilly.
Cal will look to the others, "Is there anything we need before we do this ritual? It seems this place is full of things that can equip us for the inevitable issues that we will face."

Seeing some opportunity, the red-haired half-elf realizes she doesn't quite feel the urge to pilfer things, instead remembering she still has some magical trinkets that she might be able to sell or trade so she starts to look around for any trader who would be interested in enchanted items.
If anyone wants to go shopping, any mundane items you could possibly want are for sale (at the costs listed in the PHB). Magic items are available as well, though they are quite pricy...
Most common items cost anywhere between 50 to 100 gp. Most uncommon items will cost anywhere between 100 gp and 500 gp. Rare items on average will set you back at least 1,000 gp. Very rare and legendary magic items, I'm afraid, are a bit outside your price range, though they are also being sold at this market.
There are also merchants who would likely be willing to purchase any items that you no longer want or need for a reasonable price (no need for a Perception check to find said merchants).
Yasmina is able to find a merchant fairly easily who would be more than happy to take some magic items off her hands... what is she planning to sell?
(Yasmina is planning to sell all the items she took from the bandits, except the ones that belonged to Charlie, the luckstone that she kept for herself and any other items that is now claimed by other pcs present. :-)
Delvindra seriously considers selling the Ring of Mind Shielding. She's ceased wearing it. Allowing the voices to become a constant companion has made them easier to ignore and, for better or worse, yielded additional abilities. Yet, for some reason, she decides not to part with it...yet.
(No shopping for me. Ready to move on when others are)
Cal will now see the humanity in the Lich's eyes and nod in agreement to Zander.
The lich nods...

Cal will say a quick prayer in remembrance of all that have fallen by this rod or because of it and walk boldly through the portal.

Zander says "I could probably use some better ranged weaponry" holding up his two hand axes.
He will look around to see if he can find anything useful.
