The attack at the bottom is not valid....ignore the 26.
Ral connects with the beast doing a total of 32 damage to the scorpion cracking its carapace in a few places. Its left claw can't grapple but can attack. There is a crack near its head too.

Ral looks back hearing some of the talk looking ups then screams, "Red Dragon.......Petnan and Darbakh move away from us fast!!!!!!!!!"
Petnan looks up as well and thinks he sees the same thing......verifying Rals information and Runok and Lars feelings of something being amiss.
Dragon's init:
The Dragon moves from 180 ft to 60ft very quickly. It seems to be smiling, "I have set a wonderful trap for you idiots." It growls/laughs in a peculiar way most dragons do.

(Ooc I think innate casting darkness is still an action as the spell is an action) if bonus action I’ll add something to this set of actions
telepathically call lars back (since he’s above me. Should be quick and have him perch behind be In backpack so his head sticks out and over my shoulder
i move down and away from party to ensure my 15’ radius darkness does not interfere with them

Ic: smudge im going dark hope this works
i cast darkness on an amulet I’m wearing
It would be an action for now..I'll research it a bit to see if there is some ambiguity to it though.

Darbakh looks at the red dragon with a measure of awe at first, almost appreciative, until the being mocks the group. Scowling at the dragon, the duergar hefts his maul and shouts to it. "Oops, I accidentally crushed your pet!" he says, with as much mockery in his voice, as he goes to town on the giant scorpion.
Smudge quickly decides that a scorpion shell might provide some protection against a dragon but for the unfortunate reality that scorpion is alive. So he decides that the best solution is to kill the scorpion quickly and up close then use the shell-carcass as shelter. Having made these rational but questionable decisions, he implements them by running the short distance to the scorpion while yelling, “Tymora, yippee-ki-yay this mofo!” but realizes when the bolt goes wide that that was definitely not the recommended wording

Darbakh's first attack: 15 Damage if it hits: 18
Darbakh's second attack: 18 Damage if it hits: 17
(Runok, of course, is hiding in the trees)
Darbakh although taking time to taunt the red dragon manages to barely connect with the first swing of the Magical Maul. It severs the left claw and then the second swing comes crashing down on the carapace between the eyes killing it out right. 35 damage.

He casts Guiding Bolt lv 1: 1+7=8
Smudges Guiding bolt likely the cause of Darbakh's near miss on his first attack barely hit for Darbakh....Sometimes the light is soft. You find that even as badly beat up as the Scorpion is there is still too much connected to the shell to find a way to use it in such short a time.
"You fools", screams the dragon!!!! "I shall take pleasure in roasting you alive."

Ooc. The drows innate ability to cast darkness. That’s an action or is it a bonus action since innate??
(Ooc I think innate casting darkness is still an action as the spell is an action) if bonus action I’ll add something to this set of actions

i cast darkness on an amulet I’m wearing
(Ooc. Also temp hit points should be +10 due to heroism) I have it on my chat sheet but not showing on the combat tracker. Likely I updated too late
It would be an action for now..I'll research it a bit to see if there is some ambiguity to it though.

Humm why is the scorpion smoldering?
Smudge can go...Darbakh you can go too. I imagine Runok is looking for a hiding place away from the party.
Smudge since you are in melee with the Scorpion you cannot move away without taking an opportunity attack to do so.
