I feel like I should let Ne'haredowell respond to Merkas before I post. 😅 You have time for a little more convo before I... do something.
Also, internet is up!! The apartment is tiny, and there are so many boxes, and my roommate has EDS and a bad back, so progress is mostly on me. 🙃 And I have a partially fused back and nueropathy. My whole body is in so much pain. But I'm making a little progress every day. We have a... functional kitchen, a cozy (if stuffed to the brim) bedroom, and a fully setup bathroom. My roommate needs to make some decisions on where things go in the living room, since it's 99% his stuff. So when he awakens from his nap, we can start on that.
I say all that to say, I can post close to daily now, but my energy levels and available time are quite low. There may be days where I just can't post until the apartment is fully set up.
Please pick a direction by tomorrow though. If not, I'll just pick the route that is based on parts of the map your characters already know (since you've already decided you don't wish to explore). Realistically, there are still going to be some skirmishes on your way out.
Be sure to add all the gear you've added to your inventory, so it updates your encumberance, and so you don't forget what it is. I usually try to back up your bookkeeping with my own notes, but I literally don't have time to be meticulous for the next few weeks.
BTW, if you can't decide what you want the common and uncommon loot to be, just log your contents as [Quantity] Uncommon/Common [Type of item, like weapon/armor/wondrous item/potion] and you can declare what it is later. I realize that will make encumbrance messy, but for now, you all should be able to carry everything. It'll be more important if you end up carrying it over long distances, or decide to grab other heavy loot. If you discover a need on the fly, and wish to declare what item you're using right then and there, go ahead and do that.

I knew it! I am upset with the DM here. he is to take FULL blame.
You not give Kenders ( no matter if it is just one in the group. Such items end up with the Kender ) Horn of blasting, Efreet Bottles, Ring of wishes, Daern Instant Fortress etc etc
It is like putting chainsaw, Dynamite, Jetpack in a kindergarden. It will NOT go well!
I am sure next item Merkas will get is Deck of many things...

LMAO! I didn't decide who got what! 🤣
But... for hilarities sake... it probably couldn't have got to a better character.
Yes. And if it WAS any zombie or monster not aware of us within 600 feet....they do now!
Yes. Especially on the "or monster" part.
Directional sound is hard to discern in a stone labyrinth... but I wouldn't be surprised if a certain Eidelon is very curious about WTF that was all about. Also "Chat-astrophre" 🤣 I see what you did there, and I love it. Ororana might steal that as an in-game nickname.
Between Ne-haredowell's non-sequitor dialogue, and Merkas's chattery nature, each 6 seconds before combat is turning into an episode of Archer, and I'm positively tickled by it!

with such a cast we could become a sitcom

It's called Kung-Fu Hustle, and it's my favorite Chop-socky flick. It's both a satire and love letter to 70s era, low budget Hong Kong cinema, written and directed by the same director who made Shoalin Soccer.
The actors in that scene are all retired actors from that film era, and are kind of reprising (albeit more cartoony) the roles they played in their hay-day. In spite of being a comedy satire, it has great emotional range, and the combat sequences are beautifully choreographed. I recommend watching it. You'll wanna play a monk in your next game, for sure.
Please Like this post if you agree to the motion, so as to not clutter up the thread. Especially since we're still in combat. Hrothbert_Neruca has made a suggestion that I'm a bit torn on. If you like the idea, we'll make it a house rule, and add it to the list.
Rule Proposal:
When you are dying, go ahead and make all necessary Death Saves. The saves will play out in Initiative Order.
Pro:
This will streamline gameplay during Initiative Order. The player in question can't really do much but lie there and die, so waiting for them to post a Save slows the game down.
Con:
This grants the players meta-knowledge of a timeline for how fast they have to rush to heal their compatriot.
Personal Note:
As a DM, I would like to commend you on your tendency to avoid meta-knowledge. Even to your own detriment. I trust that you can handle such information fairly, which is the biggest reason I'm even bringing this to a vote. But, even with that in mind, I can't help but worry this would take some of the drama out of the encounter. Let's be honest, this is a very winnable fight, even without the Horn of Blasting obliterating nearly half the enemies. And what was a simple stab-and-grab encounter has now become a white-knuckled life-or-death situation, that honestly has me on the edge of my seat. Hrothbert_Neruca, as Merkas, made a delightfuly "Merkas" decision. Was it tactically advisable? No. But that's very Merkas. And I love it! (But seriously, Hrothbert_Neruca, Merkas is gonna need to learn to listen to the team and work as a group if y'all intend to survive bigger encounters). But now, the entire party is scared for Merkas's life. You have choices to make.
What's the bigger threat: Merkas failing his Death Saves, or the remaining standing zombie taking out another low-HP player before you can even heal Merkas, thereby making it even harder to save the lives of those that are falling? This battle has suddenly become gritty and high-stakes. But if you know whether Merkas will make or fail his Saves... will it strip the encounter of its drama?
I'm ambivalent. My goal is to make the game fun for you. If streamlined gameplay is better for acheiving that goal, I'm all in. But if you prefer the suspence, I'm equally supportive of that. With only four votes on the table, I'll be a tie-breaker if I must be. But I'd like to see where you stand on this. After MrUncleTio takes his turn, it will be Zombie Green's turn (if it's still unalive), then the round ends. We start Round 2 with Sera, then it will be Merkas's turn again. When we get Merkas's turn, the poll will close, and I'll post the results. We'll move forward with those results. If there are no votes, I'll assume that's a "no". If there are only 2 votes, I'll break the tie. If you wish to discuss the proposal, feel free to do that, but please don't bury a "Yes" in the middle of it. Just a simple "Like" to the proposal will do.
As I suggested it I am on board, there is a way to hide the saves so only you and the DM can see them but it needs to be done each time you roll. (On mobile if you hold down on the death save button it gives you the options)
So Yes, faster gameplay
About Merkas Learning, yeah surviving this will definitely have him learning for sure

I’m totally fine with it. Literally laughed out loud when the 1 rolled up. Couldn’t even get 1 use of it in public to make a proper impression.
Oh well got lots od potions lying around

Sera's last cure light wounds will be used on the blue Chatastrophe. She loves him anyway.
But then we might need take a quick identify of thoose potions. To reveal the healing potions. We might need that fast.
