this is a game

The dryad awkwardly steps toward her dogwood ‘tree’ and is gone.  It seems social graces are not a practiced skill.

The party continues on their way passing rocky spurs and rough patches of snarly thorn brush, sticking close to the river banks.  Up ahead a log is bridging the river.  As Xolen goes to check it out a huge toad leaps from the water tongue enwrapping the Rogue one second he is there the next the toad has swallowed him…

OOC auto rolled initiative-

turn order is Katrina, GF2, Suki, GF1, GF3, Xolen, Pip, anyone else who trailed along behind…

Round 1

Katarina lets out a cry of anguish!

"NO!!! Don't eat nice sling-man!" she exclaims, her axe out and ready to rumble. "Don't worry, sling-man, Katarina will get you out!"

Katarina uses Feline Agility to get as close as she can and hurls a handaxe at it! (OOC: looks like, even after Feline Agility, the giant toad will still be just out of range for Katarina to get into melee)

Also, as a bonus action, Katarina enters a RAGE!!

So, add +2 to the damage rolled in the previous post, for a total of 7

Katrina’s handaxe flies true buried in the flesh of the Giant Toad.  The toad simply slips back into the water, it was obviously struggling to contain its meal kick and punches stretching the rubbery skin.

Yuri’s turn the frog has not submerged completely having struggled to simply walk down into the water…

Emerging from the emerald canopy like a blast of unnatural wind, a large, shaggy figure steps between the giant frog and the stream bank.  Towering over the frog, his massive, moss-streaked frame casts a long shadow. With seemingly glowing eyes and vines wrapped long his outstretched arm, he stands defiant, a towering guardian blocking the monstrous toad from escaping into the stream.

Mellow Luck

Standing at seven feet tall, his broad shoulders and earthy, gray-green skin mirror the ancient cliffs.  He bursts through the brush with a quiet, startling grace, his heavy footsteps muffled by the damp, spongey loam of the forest floor.   

Instead of heavy metal armor, he wears garments woven from living moss, deep-rooted ferns, and sturdy bark. Tangled in his thicker patches of fur and rustic locks are tokens of the wild: pinecones, feathers from a night owl, and polished river stones.

As he halts in front of the giant frog's advance, Mellow Luck raises his shield.  It's surface shimmers with the verdant, emerald pulse of the magic of Nature, tracing blooming, vine-like patterns of pure starlight across its hardened face. Interlaced with this earthy vitality is the radiant, golden aura of the divine — a warm, holy brilliance that banishes shadows. Together, these forces weave an impenetrable aegis. The shield does not just glow; it breathes with the rhythmic heartbeat of the forest and thrums with the resounding, melodic chorus of the heavens.

What to think of this figure dropped into the moment.  His calloused feet firmly planted on the river bank; the grasses and weeds suddenly coming alive and growing with vigor.  His non shield hand held flat in a gesture of warding, firmly a living bulwark; embodying the untamed forest itself — standing resolute between the bewildered creature and the foul, unnatural runoff tainting the once-pure waters.

OOC and what an entrance! Party LINK for rolls and VTT.  I’m gonna place Mellow near the log other side of the river.

The toad literally vomits Xolen into the river Fizz he begins floating away…  Two more toads leap from the river.  A hazy film on their bodies the weird iridescence shimmering and a blue fuzz growth in patches.

Yuri’s turn 

Yuki moves in as close as she can and cast Toll the Dead on GF1.

18 with a WIS save DC 13 or take 7 damage.

Yuki scrambles quickly up the small cliff face standing across from GF1 an ominous bell dongs as GF1 turns to face Yuki its throat pouch bulging out as it croaks loudly.

Suri’s turn

turn order; Katrina, GF2, Mellow, GF1, GF3, Yuki, Suri, Pip, Xolen, …

Suri also moves closer and casts Frostbite on GF1.

CON save DC 13 - On a failed save 2 cold damage and disadvantage on the next weapon attack roll.

Bonus action cast Shillelagh on her quarterstaff.

GF1 is coated in a frosty layer of cold looking transformed by the white hoarfrost covering it momentarily.

Pip’s turn

Pip moves about 15-20 feet west to get line of sight on the giant frogs, he sends a bolt of flame their way, but he cannot seem to focus properly on the shot.  "Ho there!  We'll help you, just watch their mouths!"  

Fire bolt : 7 to hit ... 

Out of Pip’s hand launches a bolt of fire!

It misses it’s target instead striking the log over the river, blasting a chunk free.

Xolen weakly thrashes in the water.  He tries to grab at stones and catch his footing but ends up washing towards the rocky ledge, getting banged up on the way.

Round 2 Katrina’s turn

Katarina sees the newcomer surrounded by giant toads, while Xolen is dragged away by the river!

"Someone save Xolen!" Katarina yells in a bit of a panic. "Katarina will help the fuzzy nature guy fight the ugly frogs!"

She charges at Giant Frog 2 and uses her greataxe!

Attack: 6 Damage: 6

...and in her panic, she flails her axe like an absolute idiot. She suddenly looks a lot more like a rich girl playing around than a fearsome warrior. Oh well.

Katrina rushes GF2 which is partially submerged, as she attacks from the shoreline however the foamy slime causes a near slip.

GF2 dives into the water swimming towards Xolen, as it gets near - its huge sticky tongue flicks out once again, glancing off the halfling’s vomit slicked body…
