Lae tries an unopened chest. “Can’t let you have all the fun,” he says as he smacks his mace against a lock.

Attack:6. Damage:9.

You line up to swing at the lock, but, being unaccustomed to swinging at many locks, your swing misses the lock completely.

Good shot, Lae! My brother found his rhythm, but you seem to have lost yours.

“Har-har,” grunts Lae.

"Yeah I found a bit of gold in the first one and these 3 moss agates. Lae, you think you can handle that one or shall I give it a try?"

Zennas moves on to the next footlocker. The one on the north side.

"I also found a human scrotum in the first chest... It's still there if someone is interested."

So I thought the one on the north side was the one Lae is at already? Or is he at one of the ones on the west side?

A what? No... But how about we collect everything in here and split it between us? Now that we know these people are evil, or at least not very good, I don't feel bad for taking it.

If that was the one Lae was at then I would have gone to the other side and started on one of those. 

(I'll put Lae at the north one as that seems most logical, then Zennas at the northern of the two west ones as that also seems logical.)

Zennas, you also have no trouble picking this lock and find inside an ivory hairbrush with silver bristles (worth 25gp).

OOC: Can Lae attempt another bash at the lock? Or should I have him try something else to open it.

Still laughing Lae draws back his mace and swings it against the lock once more.

OK I will collect the valuables and move to the last chest.

I keep forgetting that I am lucky and get to reroll 1's. So here is my reroll for the lock.

Awesome, so much better. 

Lae, you break the lock this time and find a black leather eye patch with a carnelian (worth 50 gp) sewn into it.

Zennas, this lock gives you some trouble and you are unable to pick it this time. (You could try again.)

You hit the lock and cut part of the way through, but not completely.

"Let's see if that loosened it up a bit."

Zennas attempt to pick the lock again.

Whether the attack loosened the lock, or you just got a better run at it with the thieves' tools, the lock opens and inside you find a slivered short sword (worth 110gp).

As you emerge from the side room, you notice that somehow the dog has followed you down. He sniffs at the stone lip around the cistern, lifts his leg and pees on it.
