(disadvantage for vision based perception because of Dim light, ie: Darkness for darkvision = dim light: 14)
Xilyrah moves to keep the party at the edge of her vision and scans around. Although she can't see the individual, she is certain it is behind a stalagmite about another 60 feet beyond her.
Xilyrah waits and is about to look away, but something influences her to keep looking just a bit longer. The creature, a short small humanoid, leaves its hiding spot behind the stalactite and flees away from the group and out of sight.
Neither Xilyrah nor Narstin notice anything for the remainder of their shift. Warned, the next shifts keep an extra vigilant watch, but the remainder of the long rest pass without interruption.
Day 9 starts of well enough, but Sarith continues to lead the party through the wide open cavern and is unable to find the exit he is looking for. There is only one section of the cavern he bypassed, because it was covered in spider webs, potentially for hundreds of feet. After searching everywhere else, he returns to the webs and stops in front of them, lost in thought. The party waits, used to these pauses, but after a bit too much time passes, they start to suspect there's a problem.
After all these days of following the drow, Tozer is becoming more and more annoyed by the fact that he can't speak directly to the one who's leading the group. "Being led by a dark elf and, seemingly, hunted by a derro," he mutters aloud, not caring if anyone else hears.
Still holding tight to his suspicions of non-dwarves, Tozer can't help but wonder if Sarith is up to something. (Insight: 10)
Having wandered around the cavern for longer than he expected them to be there, then seeing Sarith stop and inspect the webs, narstin lets out a sigh and says in elvish, "Let me guess. The direction we need to go is through there." He waves a hand at the webs ahead of them.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Everyone (NPC's included) roll a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw. If more than half the group succeeds the saving throws, travel distance is not hindered. Otherwise the party ends the day exhausted after going half the normal distance.

Tozer cuts his way through the hundred feet of webbing blocking the way out of the cavern. Even when cut, the webbing flutters and remains annoyingly sticky. Everyone but Sarith the Drow and Xilyrah the half Drow get caught up in it and slow down the progress. By the time the party exits the webbing on the other side, everyone is exhausted and there's no talk of pressing on. The party moves only far enough away to be clear of the potential spiders that spun the webs, then hunker down for a long rest.

Tozer looks at Sarith and Sarith looks at Tozer, blank expression, maybe a bit confused.
Xilyrah sees Tozer and Sarith staring at each other and interjects, "Well, Sarith? Why have we stopped for so long? What's going on????"
As she studies Sarith's face for any clues as to why they've stopped she translates her question to the rest of the group.

Sarith was about to answer Xilyrah until Narstin guessed correctly. Remaining mute, Sarith only nods and points at the wall of webs.
"So be it," remarks Tozer stoically. "If someone will lend me a blade, I'll begin the web slashing."

(good enough..)
Tozer is the first to hear footfalls approaching from around a corner in the tunnel ahead.
(Might as well see if Narstin or Derendil are paying any attention)
Narstin: 13
Derendil: 11
Tozer, using only hand signals, makes the others aware that he has heard something up ahead.
