Taman purchases the cheaper of the two options, giving the periapt of health to Fujin before they seperate. Before returning to his room he stops and purchases ten antitoxins, to aid with poison. Then he retires for the night.
Fujin insists that he at least covers half the cost, paying the shopkeeper 250gp and apologizes for accidentally calling his wife a hustler. (I would have only spent your coin on the peirapt of health, so, unless you are paying all 500 GP for it, then it would not be purchased. The reason Taman gave it to you was that it was bought with your coin, not his. Also only purchasing the 10 antitoxins if the full 1000 gp you offered was available. Taman did not have coin for any of this on his own after all. Let me know if you were not giving the full 1000 gp as you stated previously, as that totally changes what Taman would have done here.)
(Apologies, misunderstood what was happening there entirely. Fujin happily pays the full 500gp for the Periapt and will give you the other 500gp for the anti-toxins instead of the 1pp. This time he does want his change back though, lol.)
[Adding 1pp. Changing total money given from 250gp to 1000gp.]
(You can take back 250 GP, as Taman would split the purchase of the antitoxins. He has 400 GP to his name for this, so that leaves him with around 150 GP, plus the 100 GP the scholars gave him. So we'll be on the same footing with about 250 GP left to our respective characters.)
(Fujin would make a note that he didn't offer all of his coinage right off the bat, 1000gp was only a large portion of it. So he would have more than 250gp left to his name even if you used the full 1000. But if you'd still like to split the purchase of the anti-toxins regardless just say so and I'll add 250gp back)

The next morning, Three and Taman meet up at the Yawning Portal and travel together to the ship to meet up with the rest of the party. Once everyone is aboard, the ship departs for its destination - the Isle of Chult. While traveling the seas remain calm for your journey to Chult, and you have plenty of downtime as you're not required to work while on this journey as you are Emissaries of of The Researchers (a faction of the Red Wizards of Thay).
As you get closer to your destination, you notice that the crew gets more uneasy with each passing day. You hear murmurings of the horrors seen on Chult and warnings to never leave the city if you wish to maintain your health, or even your life. One of the crewmen in particular seems to be the most worried, and spends most of his time after the first couple of days, below decks.
Amongst some of the rumors you hear, you pick up the following information:
Beware the Pterafolk, as they'd as soon eat you for dinner (or breakfast or lunch) or capture you alive to sacrifice to their Spirit Naga goddess.
Don't be caught unawares in the jungles, and keep your eyes open at all times for the Batiri. They know their way around the jungles like the backs of their hands.
If the Pterafolk don't get you, keep your eyes open for the Lizardfolk and Yuan-ti.
And if those don't get you, you'll surely be killed by any number of the indigenous beasts roaming the jungle. Mosquitos bigger than rats, carnivorous plants, diseases that will eat you from the inside out, and don't forget about the dinosaurs (large and small) that are always hungry.
There is a faction called the Flaming Fists that have Mercenaries and Scouts available for hire, however, they are located in Fort Belluarian which will be about two day's travel (through the jungle) to the north. (You will be landing at Port Nyanzaru, in the Bay of Chult).
There are also the Wild Dwarves that may help out someone in need, and are very capable of keeping the Batiri in line (for the most part).
The Tabaxi (Human tribes, not the cat-people) are also wandering about and may help or hinder any progress into the jungles (depending on if you're encroaching on their sacred grounds).
The crewmen state that the best place to be on Chult is in the Omnish city of Port Nyanzaru as you will be protected by the great walls and vigilant guard.

"We will likely need to find a guide, and see what we can learn about where our true destination is in this unforgiving land we are approaching." He sighs. After a long journey from Waterdeep to Chult you are ready to be back on dry land. Despite all the ominous warnings from the crew, nothing seemed capable of shaking Three's spirit! If anything, by the time the group arrived at the port, the chimera had nearly jumped ship in her excitement to get their adventure underway! Excited Vey helps get the shipped docked tying up sail and docking ropes. Seeing Threes enthusiasm he begins to get excited as well listening to the captain and Taman discuss their destination. Watching Three's excitement, the captain says to her, "If'n ya make it back in one piece, we'll fish for some sharks on the way back". During the ride, Fujin spent a lot of his time above decks methodically re-braiding his long brown beard, he then crosses the braids through eachother in strange and random ways, almost looking like a tangled mess of vines. Once the ship begins to dock, Fujin takes a big smell of his surroundings getting the now familiar scent of vast, salty ocean, mixed with the savor of a dense, humid jungle. "There ain't many places in Faérun where you'll be gettin' a smell like this now, is there?" He mutters to himself, dreamily. Once the gangplank is dropped he is sure to make way for the exited Three and Vey before heading down after them, holding his warhammer by the head in one hand and using the handle as a sort of walking stick as he makes his way off the docks.
Additionally, Fujin will spot the name of the ship they sailed on. He realized on about day 3 of the travel that he had no idea what the name of the ship was and it was too late to ask without it being awkward. Perception if necessary: 15

As you're waiting for the plank to be lowered you hear a loud cheer coming from the city. It sounds like something big is going on. The cheers sound like they are coming from a pretty large crowd. Shortly after the plank is lowered, You head down and are now "officially" in the Harbor Ward. The familiar sounds of a harbor - creaking ropes, slapping waves, heavy barrels rolling across cobblestones - mingle with voices shouting and cursing in an unfamiliar language filled with clicks, inhalations, and singsongy words that make it sound almost musical. The aroma of unfamiliar spices and tropical fruit mixes with the wharfside smells of fish, tar, and canvas.
As you leave the Harbor Ward to the south (the ship (named The Assurance) docked in area 16) through the gates, you are almost trampled by a dark skinned man riding a Tyrannosaurus Rex and a lighter, but tanned, skinned woman riding a Triceratops, as they speed past you. Another eruption of cheers go up as you now notice that there are not only people lining the streets, but also on top of the walls and some of the buildings, that seem to be watching this "Dino Race". After they pass you, the crowds then start to converge back into the streets.
It is now that you notice that Port Nyanzaru is an explosion of color. Buildings are painted in bright shades of blue, green, orange, and salmon pink, or their walls are adorned with murals portraying giant reptiles and mythical heroes. Every building sports baskets and clay urns of colorful flowers or is draped in leafy, flowering vines. Minstrels in bright clothing adorned with feathers and shells perform on street corners. Multicolored pennants and sun awnings flutter top the city walls. A crowd of children dressed in feathered hats and capes races past you, squealing with delighted terror as a street performer costumed as a big-toothed lizard stomps and roars behind them. the whole city seems to be bustling, sweating, laughing, swearing, and singing. It is just at this point that your reverie is disturbed by a deep throat clearing behind you.
Looking back you notice a half-gold dragon, standing about 6' 7", with his arms crossed. As you turn around he says, "Don't think I didn't notice you'se tryin' to sneak through my harbor and into the city. Where's your papers?"
