"Oh yes, I almost forgot. Poor Whistler had this fancy ring of protection so I'll give it to Drabash. Whistler also had a Shortsword +1 and a Moon-touched rapier plus other mundane items. So if any of you want those speak up."
"Thank you for all the items Issen" The Verdan would say with a smile as he Puts his documancy bag on his shoulder next to his hordesperson bag. "I don't think I need any of that equipment. If no one wants it, I can add it to my collection of goods." Gil would say with a smile as he taps the hordes persons bag.
OOC: how did we want to divide up the dragon treasure?
With the treasure divided and safely locked away and with a good nights rest you head towards the Low Lantern. The fog is especially heavy in the city this day and has not lifted.
The Low Lantern is an aging, three-masted merchant ship permanently docked on the east side of the harbor. Far past the point of being seaworthy, the vessel was converted into a tavern and gambling house that is open all day and night.
Fog obscures the Low Lantern until you get within a hundred feet of it, whereupon its tall masts and creaking bulk come into view. The converted ship has rigging but no sails, and is anchored to the wharf by thick chains. A wooden staircase climbs from the wharf’s edge to the main deck. A lantern at the bow casts an eerie green light to signify that the tavern is open for business.
The main deck of the old ship features wooden steps that climb to the forecastle and aftcastle, and another set of stairs descending into the ship. A padlocked wooden hatch fitted with windows acts as a skylight for the deck below — the tavern proper, visible through the hatch’s glass panes. Four dead seagulls lie on the deck and two ravens squawk at you from the crow’s nest, a forty-foot climb up the ship’s rigging.
(OOC: Gil is the documancer and the hordesperson. So I was waiting to figure out the cash until I knew if I was going to have to RP selling loot or anything... but here is a list of everything we collected. Not added up or divided up currently.)
Chest 1 holds 4,500 cp and two red crystal vials with gold stoppers (25 gp each). Each vial contains a potion of fire breath. With the coins and vials inside, the chest weighs 70 pounds.
Chest 2 contains ten eye agates (10 gp each) scattered amid 1,250 sp. With the coins and gemstones inside, the chest weighs 37 pounds.
Chest 3 contains a delicate porcelain dragon mask (25 gp) resting on a bed of 2,400 cp and 500 sp. With the coins inside, the chest weighs 55 pounds. The mask weighs 1 pound.
Chest 4 contains a bronze crown with five spires (250 gp). Each spire is shaped and painted to resemble one of the five kinds of chromatic dragons (black, blue, green, red, and white). The crown weighs 2½ pounds.
"We are looking for someone by the name of Amrik" The red skinned verdan would say as he taps the documancy bag hanging from his shoulder.
Before they leave HQ, Darvin attempts to fashion a disguise using his [equipment] disguise kit [/equipment] to resemble the clothing of the skull-faced man that was trying to kill the Morlock Vanthampur brother in the dungeon. When they get close to the tavern, he finds a secluded spot where he can ritual cast comprehend languages, and then shapeshifts into the likeness of the assailant.
"Here's what I'm thinking," he explains to the group during his preparations. "I go in there and tell Amrik that some adventurers raided the base, but that I managed to escape, and came straight here to warn him his life is in danger. Then I try to convince him that for his own safety he needs to come with me to a safe house. The group of you find somewhere to hide; not too far, in case things go south... But if I succeed, I'll start to escort him toward our base, and you ambush him. Ideally we can capture him alive, which should be much easier if we can separate him from his lackeys."
"I could disguise myself as well if you wish" The verdan would add with a smile. "I don't think I could change my voice or anything like that but I could change way I look. Otherwise I am perfectly fine observing" he would say as he glances towards the ship in amazement.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Right you two go into the Inn and see if you can locate this bloke and entice him outside. Darrash and I will stay here and grab him as soon as he comes out." Tibi says as he steps into the shadows (Stealth = 11) and just manages to stay out of the light cast by a street lamp.

"Good idea," Darvin says, nodding at Gil. "It will be more believable that I'd come with backup, plus, if it doesn't go well, we're less likely to die before the others can intervene."
Turning to Tibi, "Ideally I think we would try to get him a bit further away before you grab him, in case any of his toadies are watching from inside. What if you hide right outside, so you can hear the signal if we need you to come in, and Drabash hangs out down the street --- in view of you, but far enough not to seem conspicuous; then when we come out, we'll walk toward Drabash and you tail us stealthily. Then Drabash attacks as we walk past."
OoC: Since it sounds like everybody is on board...
Darvin will also cast detect thoughts just before he goes in (duration one minute), ask someone (a bartender?) if Amrik is in, read his thoughts to get a mental image of Amrik so he knows what he looks like, and then, if yes, walk with purpose to find him (since he presumably ought to know what Vanthampur looks like already), and deliver the "news".
Deception to pass off as the cultist (advantage from Changeling): 24
Darvin, now disguised as Vaaz, leads Gilbert onto the deck of the Low Lantern and down one level. They find themselves in a taproom and gambling hall (Tavern Deck). It reeks of sweat, cheap ale, rotting timbers, and old vomit. Three bouncers position themselves so they can see everything that happens here. Several patrons sit in places around the room but it isn't very busy this early in the day.
A middle-aged female human is seated at the short end of the bar with a crab on her shoulder.
“Well met! My name is Laraelra Thundreth, but folks around here call me the Captain. If you’re thirsting for a beverage or looking to gamble, you’ve come to the right place, but watch your step. Things can get pretty messy around here.” the woman says.
You ask if Amrik is in and she nods.
"Yes, downstairs."
You head down another level and find yourself on the lounge deck.
This tavern lounge fills an entire deck and is lit by oil lanterns hanging from the 8-foot-high ceiling by 1-foot-long chains. The windowless deck contains a bar, couches, coffee tables, and tables where patrons can socialize and gamble. Three of Laraelra’s bouncers stand in plain view across the deck.
Amrik sits alone on the starboard couch, his feet on the table and his eyes on the room.
A spiny devil looking creature perches on the back of Amrik’s couch. Vhaltus, a sleepy-eyed human with red hair in a ponytail, sits at the closest end of the bar.
Amrik waves you over when you come down. "Vaaz, what can I help you with today?"
"I'm afraid the bath house base has been compromised," Darvin says in Vaaz's voice, with an attempt to convey suppressed urgency. "Some adventurers slaughtered their way through the place. They may be on their way here; I snuck away to warn you. You'd better come with us to the safehouse that your brother wasn't privy to."
Gil would stand behind and to the side of Darvin. The verdan would no longer look like himself however, instead taking on the appearance of the muscular man in a helmet that they killed inside the bath house. He wouldn't say a word but would simply keep his arms crossed and try his best to help Darvin to convince Amrik to follow him out of the boat. Nodding along at the story while occasionally glancing around the room for threats.
Issen smacks his head.
"Oh yes, I almost forgot. Poor Whistler had this fancy ring of protection so I'll give it to Drabash. Whistler also had a Shortsword +1 and a Moon-touched rapier plus other mundane items. So if any of you want those speak up."
Tibi will look after the Shortsword +1

"Equally!" Tibi simply states.

A concerned look crosses Amrik's face.
"My brother is a fool. He's dead then? Forget any safehouse, I best be going to my mother's place. I'll be safe there."
He stands and motions to Vhaltus.
"Let's go."
Vhaltus moves for the stairs and Amrik follows. The winged creature follows behind Amrik.
You make your way to the top deck and back onto the dock and turn north towards the Upper City.
