"We... should go..." Gil would say quickly as soon as they disappear into the building. "quickly" He would add as he moves away from the entrance. "Unless one of you has a way to seal that door shut and trap those cultists down there forever.. we need to get out of here." He would whisper as he pats his bag of holding.
Drabash drags himself to his feet with a knowing smile at Gilbert's nervousness. "Alright lads, looks like we may not want to mess with those guys, especially when they realize their items are gone. I thank you all for saving me but I should report to my superiors but then I will be having a few mugs of ale if you care to join."
The cultists disappear into the building and taking Gilbert's advice to heart you immediately clear the area. With the use of the temporary Flaming Fist badges you have received you are able to leave the city through the gates.
Thus you are able to make it back to your headquarters to rest and heal before continuing your investigation.
Congratulations you are now Level 5! When you are done leveling up let us know and then you can continue the adventure and your investigation.
While the party are resting , those who are interested notice that Tibi has been continuing to practice with the two rapiers. It would seem that his practice has paid off as he has suddenly become more proficient with them - particularly his off-hand.
Gil would divide the coins and place them into different pouches.. once for each of them and one for the AI cut. He would also sort out the other treasures and prepare them to be sold. The small Verdan would constantly be rubbing his arms and legs... occasionally complaining about his muscles being sore for the remainder of the day. That night, he would wake up in a cold sweat.. screaming in pain. Gil would no longer be three feet tall.. instead over the course of 24 hours his body would transform as though he were a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. His skin would change color.. turning from blueish green to a pale red with dark spots.. and upon standing up, he would realize he was now just a bit over six feet tall. He had known this day would come and had a spare set of clothes and even a different arcane focus stashed away inside his chest. It took all of his energy to work his aching limbs into the new clothes and after a few hours of stretching.. finally dared to leave his room.
"I uhh.. well I went through a growth spurt.." The tall lean verdan would reply as he looks himself up and down. "Our race transitions from a small size to a medium size as our bodies develop. It isn't based on age or maturity however... It is still sort of a mystery as to how it all works. We are a very young race after all...".He would add with a smile. "I will say it is a pretty big deal when it occurs and so while I am in a lot of pain.. it is a pretty exciting development." Gil would make his way through the room and find a seat. He would take some time to rub his arms and legs before requesting some breakfast.
Issen welcomes you all back to HQ, he feeds you a huge meal and you are all able to get a good nights rest.
He is saddened by the loss of Whistler and you have a short burial service in the back of the stables where you lay his remains to rest.
"So who is the new guy? Is he joining the crew? You are down a slot, he looks like he would be a welcome addition. I'll start all the necessary paperwork."
For a few hours Drabash's head spins from the paperwork he needs to sign to officially join the franchise.
He then sits you all down and lets you know what has been going on.
"We've received word from the bosses. We'll be funding an expansion of HQ, unless you wish to move into the city proper, upper or lower and expand that way. We've also got some new transportation coming our way but I'll need to know what you want to requisition. Lay out your ideas and I'll see what I can swing with Home Office. Additionally we've been authorized to take on more staff and I'll be hiring additional help to keep the expansion maintained."
"Our license now covers the greater Baldur's Gate area, we are official!"
"I've got new gear for some of you as well. Tibi, as Decisionist and Cartographer you get a Spyglass of Clairvoyance, and a Tale of Travel"
Tale of Safe Travel
Starting at rank 2, you gain the ability to perform a 45-minute ritual using your cartographer’s tools, maps, and 50 gp in consumed material components. By doing so, you ensure safe travel for you and other creatures, from your current location to another location you could normally reach within one day. The destination must be one to which you have traveled previously, or for which you have an accurate route and map.
If your tale is told with reverence and precision, you and up to six other creatures plus their gear (including vehicles or mounts) become encircled in a magical bubble and are pulled into the Border Ethereal (see chapter 2 of the Dungeon Master’s Guide). During the ritual, you tell a story of your future journey, relating details of what will be seen en route. The DM can choose to add to the story, imparting additional details or planting seeds for future adventures. If you wish, the ritual can be ended early, allowing the party to encounter what’s being described by the DM.
Whenever the ritual is ended or interrupted by you, all the travelers arrive safely at the destination. At the DM’s discretion, all the travelers affected by the ritual can gain the benefit of either a short rest or a long rest during the voyage.
"Also you get an Absentee Ballot and you'll notice some new features with the Coin of Decisionary "
Absentee Ballot
Starting at rank 2, if a member of your franchise party is absent, you gain their vote and can decide quite confidently how they would have voted. In addition, if a vote is ever taken while you are absent, you can call for a recount and add your two votes to the final voting result.
Coin of Decisionry
Starting at rank 2, your coin of decisionry becomes a common magic item. When you flip the coin, it always lands with the Acquisitions Incorporated sigil face down, and a message appears on the “tails” face. Roll a d4 on the following table to determine the message.
Also at rank 2, Head Office trusts that as long as your needs are met, you have no reason to skim any profits. You maintain a wealthy lifestyle at no cost to you.
Also at rank 2, whenever your franchise begins a major quest or mission, make a DC 15 Intelligence (History) check. On a success, you can learn up to three rumors related to creatures or organizations involved in the mission, which come to you through your sending stone. These rumors reflect current or historical knowledge possessed by Acquisitions Incorporated or the organization’s many contacts.
(OOC - thought I was only the Decisionist - pretty sure somebody else was the cartographer)
Tibi puts down his knife and fork and then turns to the others “well one way of getting known will be to deal with that Duke’s son - what say you all.”
(OOC - thought I was only the Decisionist - pretty sure somebody else was the cartographer)
Issen checks the minutes from the initial meeting (post #10). "Nope I have you as the cartographer and the decisionist for sure. I can't begin to tell you how much paperwork we will need to file with home office if you want to change or decide you weren't the cartographer this whole time. It won't be pretty. You'll keep those job responsibilities for now."
Tibi looks at the party around the table “seems like I got voted chief decision maker and mapper some time back” looking to Issen for confirmation “that means in the future” staring intently at Gill “no sticking your hands and nose in places without my say so first!”
He then turns to Drabash “so new guy exactly what are you good at?”
(OOC: I thought that Gil had applied to a second role.. Documancer maybe... I don't remember what it was though...? It has been so long ago and it was before the last dungeon so I don't really remember.. )
Gil would have looked to Darabash and smiled. "yes, and we have an opening if you are interested." He would say with a smile. At the mention of expanding the branch and getting his new bag, he would smile. "I vote we stay here.. less overhead!" He would say with a smile.
Drabash turns to Tibi with a grin, "What am I good at? Well I'm pretty good at hitting things and scaring people." He finishes with a chuckle, "but in all seriousness, I grew up with in the flaming fist and until recently it was all I knew. I decided I wanted something different and decided to do some solo work and well you know how that worked out!"
He then turns to Gil, still surprised at the sudden change he has gone through, "I would gladly join your group."
After some discussion on each of the roles with Issen, Drabash makes his decision. "Occulant sounds like a formal version of the friendly bets and competitions we used to have whilst on a mission with the fist, so I think I'll take that one!"
Issen smiles. "Very good, very good. Occulant it is. Just a few more papers to sign for home office and you'll be official. As a rank 1 occultant, you gain proficiency with one of the following of your choice: cook’s utensils, leatherworker’s tools, or weaver’s tools. Head office also grants you the use of a tool kit for your chosen proficiency, a merchant’s scale, five waterproof belt pouches in which to store creature parts or other tools, and a unique item known as an occultant abacus (sometimes just referred to as an occultant), whose beads resemble tiny skulls."
"Also, in doing an audit I see Gilbert is the indeed the Documancer but was missing some things. So here is what is missing. Head office also grants you the use of calligrapher’s supplies (ink, a dozen sheets of parchment, and three quills), a documancy satchel for your calligrapher’s supplies, a ledger, sealing wax, copper and silver leaf, a documancer’s seal of limited authority, and a scroll case."
OK, I added some notes to your sheets including Other Possessions and the stuff you get for your roles as well as an Organization with Talons of the Silver Hawk - AI and your role and level and a url to the description so you can find the accompanying skills easily. Some neat stuff in there for you to put to use. Feel free to copy past whatever you want into your sheets
"It was several chests. But I see you don't carry any. Perhaps you did not see it. We will go inside and find it ourselves, we know it to be close."
They move past you following the leader and enter the building.
"We... should go..." Gil would say quickly as soon as they disappear into the building. "quickly" He would add as he moves away from the entrance. Ooc: DM are we assuming Drabash was invited back? Just trying to decide how to roleplay from here?
I would assume so

Drabash looks around the guest room he has been situated in. After a few moments he decides to go find one of the group members.
Looking around, when he finds one of the others, he asks, "Umm.. so what is going on here? This looks like a pretty impressive set up."
