Vidar cuts down another goblin before you all hear a goblin scream coming from the upper level. Looking up, a slightly larger goblin is holding up a severely beaten human. "Truce, or the human dies!", it cries out, holding the person over the edge.
Gorne, you recognize this person as Sildar Hallwinter, a close business associate of Gundren.
The goblin backs slightly away from the edge. It hesitates for a moment before saying "Send one person up to get 'em, only one! In return, I bet we can help each other."
As you make your way up the stairs, you find yourself in a room about as large as the lower area. This appears to be a private area for the larger goblin. The goblin backs away from the injured human. "We talk now?"
The goblin fidgets a little, and keeps a bit of distance from you. "Klarg is boss here, but I want to be boss. You help kill Klarg, and I let you take the human and some of his treasure."
The goblin looks down at the four goblins you all effortlessly mowed down and the 1 cowering in the corner, then looks back to you. "Not taking bad risk."
You're wiser than you look, but I'll want more than just a cut of this Klargs treasure, I want you to disappear, these roads are no longer yours to trap and raid as you please. You understand?
The goblin unhappily ponders your statement for a while, then softly grumbles a little. "We leave the road alone, but the traps on our path stay. Intruders can be... dangerous." And it looks, again, at the corpses of its comrades.
I will confer with my colleague but this seems..... acceptable to me. One moment He shoulders Sildar and guides him back down to the others. Well you heard the gobbo. What do you guys think?
"It seems fair, it might pay to make make it clear that if they don't keep their end of the bargain then we will be back, just to keep the sneaky little buggers inline" comments Gorne
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Klarth frowns. "If we let them stay here, what's to keep them from breaking their word and ambushing people again as soon as we are gone?" He walks over to Sildar as he speaks and begins examining the man. ((If he is hurt badly enough, Klarth will cast Cure Wounds on him: 8 If he is only slightly hurt, Klarth will bandage his wounds: Medicine check: 18 ))
Sildar appears to barely be maintaining consciousness.
"Thank you, friend." He says as his wounds begin to heal. He glances over to the large goblin, and the smaller goblin which has run up the stairs next to it by this point. "Don't trust the greedy buggers. They'll go right back to terrorizing the roads as soon as you turn your back."
Gorne's first attack goes just over the goblin's head, but his second strike slices across it's torso, and it falls to the ground.
Vidar will engage another goblin with his longsword. Have at thee you scabrous bint!

And what is to stop you from attacking us as soon as we make you the new boss?

"If they don't attack the roads, I think we should leave them be. They also deserve a place to live." says Elora.

Klarth looks at Sildar. "Do you know who this Klarg is? Are they sending us into another trap?" he asks.
