The arrow slits are six inches wide, and 2 feet tall, like those in a castle for firing at intruders. As Mal and Badger scan the hallway, they notice that there are three large panels in the floor that looks like they move. However pushing on them, they seem to be very solid....even carefully putting weight on them doesn't cause them to flip, spin, slide, or collapse. They are 5x5 and between the three of them they nearly fill the 15 foot long hallway aside from foot wide gaps between them of structural bricks. Looking into the arrow slits carefully, they are filled with cobwebs. Clearing them out a bit, you see a dark room. A bit of light reveals a cobwebbed filled room beyond with a statue of a coiled serpent dominating the room. the statue is missing it's head, which lies broken on the floor next to a stone cube. On the other side, you see a similar room, large statue of a coiled serpent, but this one has its head. Clutched in the statue's jaws is a stone cube.
At the end of the hallway, it opens up into another room. In the middle of this room, a stone cube rests on a plain stone pedestal. Statues of twelve tribal warriors jut from the surrounding walls, aiming bows at the pedestal. The floor in front of the pedestal bears a mosaic depicting a monstrous serpent constricting a furious monkey. Moss obscures much of the detail.

"so who is least likely to become a pin cushion? I can assist in that," Silas questions. (who has highest AC and Silas could boast it), "Given the message back at the entrance, I doubt that is a real cube,"

After Badger and Silas go in and it appears safe, Grenk strolls in. "Pin cushion?" he questions and then sees what he means about the statues. "Oh that... Well, you want me to go get that cube? Its a little big compared to the others... Then seeing the panels on the floor he says, "Maybe I just push them onto these metal things here," and stomps on the panes. "Do you think it will spring some hidden door? Ha ha Ha..."
The group moves ever so cautiously across the strange unmoving floor panels. Even Grenk doesn't activate or trigger the panels at all. At the entrance to the main room, badger looks around, nervous about the twelve statues....though...they don't have arrows in their bows so what could they possible do? The cube sits on the floor waiting. He looks around, and quite easily sees two secret doors on the same wall inside the room as the hallway comes from. Each obviously leads into the two side rooms on each side of the hallway behind the arrow slits.

Mal will check for traps on the two secret doors before anyone enters. "I would assume we go into the room with the snake statue that has the cube in its mouth."
Investigation on door to snake statue with cube: 20
Investigation on door with cut off snake head statue: 17
To be clear, there are three cubes. One in the main room. So...tempting...must...take.....with 10 archer statues all pointing at it. I'M SURE IT'S FINE JUST TAKE IT.
There is a cube in one of the arrow slit rooms, with a statue, with it's head on the ground. And there's a cube in the other arrow slit room, with a statue, it's in the statues mouth. They all look equally realistic and have the same markings.
There are no traps on the arrow slit room secret doors and they open easily enough revealing the cobweb filled rooms with their respective statues.

Mal looks at each of the three cubes, "Just curious, there are three cubes right and three "plates" on the ground? Maybe we have to grab the cubes and then place them on the plates or have someone hold each cube on a plate to see what happens. I am more than happy to grab the cube in the main room with the archers pointing at it."
No need to risk our health unnecessarily, right? Badger asks, and then casts Mage Hand. As the glowing hand appears he then asks: Which shall we take first?

OOC: i thought the cubes were large not small. Am I correct in this or off.
Grenk will shrug and make his way to the room wifh the broken statue. He will first take time to clean out the cobwebs and try dusting off the mosaic to see if that would provide a clue.

Badger's mystical hand drifts into the room with the cube in the statues mouth as per Silas' direction. The hand plucks it easily from the statue and carries it into the main room. As badger inspects it, it appears to be a real cube held in his magical hand. Nothing untoward happens.

Curiosity may have killed a particular creature of the feline persuasion, but it never deterred a gnome. Badger drops the cube from the magic hand directly into the bag. Looking around, he then mentally directs the hand toward the other 'secret room' statue, and attempts to lift the cube from the floor beside the broken head...
Best check the others, and make sure we have the correct cube, the wizard mutters.

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
Sure. The hand picks up the cube which floats over towards Badger. It appears to be as real as the last one.
Out of curiosity, can everyone please let me know where you're standing on this map? NO REASON. 6D is the headless statue. 6E is the whole statue. 6C is the main room with archer statues all around it. The secret doors are obviously how you're peering into the statue rooms.
What does Badger do once he has the 2nd cube in his bag?
Sickle cleans the moss off of the mural, then goes to stand by the door to 6E. “A lot of cobwebs,” he murmurs thoughtfully. “Folks? I think maybe we need to be careful. Whatever made all these conwebs may still be around...”
