"Aww, that's too bad, dude. Must suck sometimes. But hey, hey, hey! It's okay. Sometimes that's just how the cookie crumbles, ya know? The universe can be a cruel dudette."Drift, the air genasi face of everyone's favorite shapeshifter. Once it became clear the group had reached a consensus, he made certain to shift the form and more into loose fitting clothing for the cyclopean man. "But like, don't worry man. We're not here to rain on anyone's parade, right. Scouts honor.. heh... Scout..." His focus kind of drifts for a moment, much as hair eireely did in some unseen breeze... or from some pscionic power.
"Where was I? Oh yaaahhh... haha... So, like, get this dudes. Here we are on a Material Plane thinking, 'Ya know what we should do? I like heard of this cool cat named Aurous, right? Maybe he'd do us a solid if we do him a solid, ya? Maybe do a bit of venture'n for'em, collect somethin' he's been interested -- ya know, be the best we can be bein' us, ya feel me so far man?"He asked the knight to do the major speaking. "So, boom, here are to offer our most humble services to the King fer a bit, in exchange for some essence of lightning or some such. And if not the king, maybe someone still pretty high up on the totem pole that might be interest... ya with me so far?" He asked. Throughout the entire time of which, subtly letting the natural magic of his seep in to the guards.

The leader of the guard looks at their comrades and shrugs their shoulders. "Follow us." The guards stop pointing their spears at you as they escort you through to the castle. They take you through the city, which is filled with magnificent buildings made out of white marble and is absolutely immaculate. You wonder how it is possible to keep a city this clean, but that question is swiftly answered as floating automatons approach you in the street and repeatedly cast Prestidigitation on you. As you are escorted through the streets, you see the faces of djinni and air genasi staring at you, obviously not accustomed to seeing people from the Material Plane. You begin to notice that all of them are wearing necklaces with a small crystal on it.
The castle gates are opened up as you approach and the guards take you to a sizeable platform in the back of the room. The leader utters a few words in Primordial and suddenly a blue field surrounds the platform as it ascends through a hole in the roof, stopping once it's made it through. You find yourself in a beautiful garden with plants that you've never seen before bearing beautiful flowers and what looks like fruit. Also decorating this garden are elaborate fountains, some of them with water trickling through them, others with wine. At the far end of the garden is a royal court, with a Djinni king and queen in regal attire. On the king's head is a magnificent crown inlaid with diamonds and aquamarine. Servants bring the king food and wine while musicians play, but none of it seems to bring him out of the unhappy mood he finds himself in. As your escort approaches him, the guards remove their helms and kneel and the Captain of the Guard, who you can now identify as a male Air Genasi thanks to his blue skin and white hair, motions for you to do the same. "Your Grace, these travelers from the Material Plane arrived outside our city mere minutes ago and say that they can assist you." The king's mood remains unhappy, but he is intrigued by what the Captain has to say and appears not to be interested in executing you.
"You may speak, outsiders."The king says, looking at you.

"Very nice to meet you! You do indeed have a wonderful place here! So spacious!" she inhaled loudly, comically. "So much air! It's lovely!"Then, she startled. "Oh! This is Stella and Vastra! They are so smart! And Obsidian! Look! He's a cat! Oh, and Yvan - he's so big and huggable! And Alys! Isn't she pretty? And Furlong! He's so OLD! And Barney! He's lots of things - some I can't mention!"she snorts in a quick laugh. "Classic. Ah! And Rinn! He was gone for a long time, but he's back now. The pigeon kept an eye on him for me!"
Drift smiles sleepily and gives the king a lack-a-dasical wave. "Many things and many names, though it comes with the territory, your Grace."He admits as much, as he went into an at least respectful bow. "These days I go by Drift though, and might I say, it is a pleasure to finally make yours and yours--" He shoots a queen a quick glance and another short bow. "acquaintance. As your guard here says, we came like, hoping to at least be of at least a temporary service. And by temporary, I mean at least long enough to help cure what clearly been of trouble to you of late."He said, smiling brightly.
"And for the low, low cost of some like, lightning essence, I think it was called? A mutual friends ours wanted to involve lightning elemental, but like dude I only got part of what that entails."He explained, but quickly waved his hand brushing off the last part. "But like, that can totally come after. What's troubling you, your Kingliness, that we, the Misfit Company, might be of service with?"
Rinn: The area is safe, everyone is far too curious about the aptly-named Misfits from the Material Plane and what they're going to do next, so they aren't even thinking of killing you. You also catch the scents of foods and flowers that you've never smelled before.

"You wish to help? While my daughter was out strolling the realm, Kroll, a dark warlord who commands all sorts of vile creatures, slew my daughter's retinue and abducted her. He says that I shall never see her again unless I agree to have him marry her and become heir to the throne, something I cannot allow. I would lead my own knights to rescue her, but that would surely result in her untimely demise. Although he would certainly not be expecting a group of adventurers from the Material Plane to try and rescue my daughter. Go to his tower, slay Kroll, and bring back my daughter to me and I will command the winds surrounding the Eternal Tempest to temporarily be still, so that you may safely pass through and collect your essence of lightning."

Stella looks around the palace quietly, Obsidian on her shoulder watching cooly, his tail flicking back and forth. As Stella listens to the king, a faint frown appears on her face, and she nods slowly. "Sounds like a win-win to me," she says softly to the group.
Obsidian jumps off her shoulder and sits on Kasha's chest, purring.
After what feels like days lost in her noting and sketching, Alys will snap her book shut. She'll glance up to the king with tired eyes only to provide a sloppy curtsey. "Point us in the direction of his tower, and it shall be done." The wizard will blink lazily.
Drift gives the others party members a smile and thumbs up. "Righteous, my dude, er, your kingliness. Heh... Cool, cool... So, like, what can you tell us about this dark warlord -- 'side from this talk of commanding vile creatures, that is. Like, does he like fireballs from his eyes, or got some weird mind power things going for him? Also, like, how are we to get to this dude's tower? Annnnd... naw wait, I can't say that one -- But, one more 'nd then we can be on our way, like, so fast."
Drift opens his mouth as if to add more, only to hesitate for a moment and look askance. "Naw nevermind. Think I was gonna ask if there's anything we could borrow to get to'em, but that's probably like, totally against the rules or some such. No worries, no worries. Just tell us the rest and we'll get right on it."

"In addition to being a warrior of great strength, Kroll has power over lightning and the winds, using them to create foul storms. He is as deadly with magic as he is with his spear. Since you cannot fly, I shall see to it that you are equipped with some of our mounts. They also know the way to his tower and can take you there, they are strong and are trained to fly through even the fiercest storm without fear." The king motions and one of his guards takes you to the castle stables, where the stablemaster gives everyone except Yvan a normal sized winged horse.
"We don't have any Djinni as tall as you here, but fortunately, I have just the mount for you, my giant friend." He leads you to a stable in the back, where there is a winged horse that is twice as large as the rest and possesses an extra pair of wings. "Once every couple of centuries a horse that is larger and has more wings than the others is born in this plane. It appears that you've come here at just the right time, Mr. Giant. Treat Sleipnir well and he'll treat you welltoo." Once all of you have been given your horses, the stablemaster shows you all how to ride a winged horse and once you've all proven that you've reasonably got the hang of it, he lets you all get on with your journey.
Like King Auruos said, the horses know the way to Kroll's tower and you don't even need to direct them outside of stating your destination. The horses fly in a tight V formation, with Sleipnir at the front. It is hard to keep track of time in this plane, as you do not note the movement of the sun and the passing of day into night. In fact, it is difficult for you to spot the sun, or any heavenly body in this plane. You can however, notice that you're approaching the tower, as the sky darkens and the clouds go from white to gray. The wind begins to speed up, but your winged mounts have the strength to carry you through them and get you to the tower.
As your horses land and you disembark, you are attacked by six air elemental myrmidons, who stand to meet you outside the doors of the tower. Roll for initiative.
