Mordekai looks around in a panic as Meepo drops under the onslaught of the enemies....but sees himself with no allies to speak of...alone in this even temple that may be his tomb. He stands his ground, gritting his teeth, and blasts the wolf. The first hits, the second misses. Then "bamfff" he vanishes.
Lionel, suddenly the watery sphere holding the two skulls vanishes. Their green flames burst into light and they cackle evil laughs as the two face you down.
Magic missiles from one strike out at you : 11 force damage.
The other tries to blast you twice with scorching rays from it's eyes. Attack: 8 Damage: 10 Attack: 16 Damage: 6

Ulthan, outside the temple you approach the corner of the temple, and see an opening, and a fissure, that surely leads into the room with the barbarians. As you creep forward, ready to sneak up on the enemy a dire wolf comes bounding out. It slides to a halt in front of you, surprised at your dark large presence, it growls and snaps.
Ulthan, take your turn.
Mordekai, you see the shimmering faint echo of the wolf turn and back away after your blast. The three barbarians that are there glance around, but not seeing you, they pull the door shut, leaving Meepo's body on the icy marble outside.
Blink, you appear again in the real world. Your move.

It was pointless - Lionel knew it even now with the call of vengeance ringing in hie ears, making him deaf to any other voice - but he could not stop now, with the enemy in his reach. He got one last breath, probably. One more hit and even his stubbornness would give up... Gods could not help here in this forsaken place... At least he could take one enemy with him - if there was someone left to fight, there will be one less monster attacking him. Lionel raised his sword again:
His body bruised, his soul beaten, the evil of the temple surrounding him swung the sun blade which seemed to flicker in his hands, smashing yet another skull out of the air, leaving him facing down only a single foe. He slashed again, the magical blade slicing into the final flaming skull sending it skittering backwards. The skull seemed to almost go out, but then its green flames leapt back to life. Its flaming eyes glared at Lionel, laughing a hollow evil laugh....Lionel stumbled....barely able to stand...and the shining golden blade in his hand seemed to give up, its light vanishing, leaving Lionel in the heart of evil with only green flame light in this frigid cold evil place to light his way. The eyes glared at him and as the darkness closed around him it was those flaming eyes that were the last thing he saw. Strahd's laugh seemed to echo around Lionel's mind as the darkness took him.
Ulthan, Mordekai, your turns.

Ulthan's master plan of sneaking to their rear and attacking them from behind goes awry as the wolf bounds before him, but Ulthan was prepared for confrontation so he lets two arrows that will be true... or so he hopes.... downing the beast that he may yet make a hide out of.
The dire wolf growls as Ulthan's two arrows whistle past it, one bouncing off its hind flank as it leaps past him out into the crunching snow. Like a black blur the creature bounds around a corner of the mountain and is out of Ulthan's site.

Now alone, Mordekai rushes to Meepo's unconscious form to see what aid he can give to stop the Kobold bleeding out. Unsure of the finer details of Kobold anatomy, Mordekai does his best to stabilize Meepo. (Can Mordekai do that? With a medicine check? Or would he need a Healer's Kit or some other proficiency?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ulthan watches the wolf carefully thinking oh, if only you would be my friend... well I guess we started off not that well... puppy... take years, but could be done... not like I'm going anywhere for a while he muses as he stealthily makes his way forward to get a better view of the inside slowly, though keeping one eye out for the wolf. Stealth: 14. Perception: 13. If there's noise of fighting I'll move quicker, if there's no noise of fighting move more carefully. I expect at this point in time that more may be coming out through here as well.
Mordekai, you rush forward, using your skills best you can to patch up Meepo. Meepo is stabilized. (do you blink out again?). You glance around, your breath emerging in plumes of white. It's frigid and cold in here. His small body wrapped in makeshift warm padding from sleeping bags won't keep his body that's near death from freezing. You're in utter darkness, though...that doesn't bother you at all. However the oppressive evil does. That...and the silence. You don't hear any more signs of battle from anywhere. All of your allies are missing. The only two you can spot are Olin, his body slumped at the alcove at the bottom of the stairs, and Kasimir's twisted zombie form with two arrows in his chest, laying on the floor downstairs as well. The giant ran off out the main door, Lionel flew off through the double doors up on that broken back balcony, and Ismark was last seen behind those arrow slits on the far side. A teleporting fearsome mage is still somewhere around here.....and you are unsure as to the state of those green flaming skulls that were flinging fireballs and magic missiles.
Ulthan, the room through the fissure is quiet, though you can't tell if it's because the howling wind out here is so loud. Looking down a short 5 foot narrow fissure you see the room, from the other side, though you can't initially see anyone. Since you're looking in from a tight fissure, you're blind to a large portion of the room to your right and left. If there are people inside, they're not speaking, and not moving about. The sleeping mats look burned up, and the whole room looks charred and blackened.

Mordekai's previous Blink roll: 10 (I should check how many that's been, it only lasts a minute, and then Mordekai might be able to carry Meepo without vanishing and dropping him!
(Edit: That was the 8th Blink roll, so another two to go)
Well, there really aren't many great options! Mordekai will wait until Blink has ended, then will cast Darkness with his Infernal Legacy, and will carry Meepo into the small dead-end room nearby, because he really doesn't see anywhere safer, and certainly doesn't want to explore further by himself with no spells available! So he'll put Meepo curled up small in the corner of the room, and hide with him, out of sight of the doorway, bedroll-cloaks pulled up over them for warmth, and hope they can hang in there for an hour for a short rest. If he does hear footsteps coming their way while he's trying to rest, he'll cast Minor Illusion to make the doorway look like it's collapsed and blocked, and recast it every minute until the footsteps go away.
(Sorry Lionel, if you stabilise and Mordekai manages to get spell slots back, Mordekai should be able to come get you, but until then, there's not a great deal he can do.)
(Mordekai has nothing to be sorry about - he does not even know where reckless Lionel is, not to mention the last skull still floating there (as well as barbarians and invisible mage) - it's better if he is not wandering around that terrible place and can save Meepo).
As Mordekai carries Meepo into the small room he hears a slight scuff sound followed by a slight "pop"...from within the room. He glances around in the utter darkness with his special vision...suspiciously...but...doesn't see anything. ? Change anything?
Mordekai freezes at the noise, listens hard, and thinks for a moment. If the scuff sound came before the pop sound, then Mordekai reasons that someone just left the room rather than enter it, so continues, slowly and carefully, staying quiet and alert.
In the tiny room Mordekai crouches down, wrapping up Meepo's body with some blankets and pressing close to him for warmth. There's no other sign of disturbance after whoever it was left. Mordekai spends what, to date, is probably his most miserable hour of existence in the tiny room, frigid and cold, his heat escaping with each exhale, his body unable to gain warmth and wracked with shivers. Through it all, the absolute silence of the place, and the lack of any sound from his allies eats away at him, and the evil of this place corrodes his mental state as well, leaving him feeling like his soul is coated in a greasy darkness that needs sun, and warmth, and joy to wash away.....
Mordekai, Meepo, Lionel, Ulthan, you all get a short rest.
