Pizazz's Ravenloft and Beyond

Meepo slashes one of the creatures in front of him...the bush creature drops, another takes its place.  

Lionel runs, leaping, sword still in hand, and clamps onto the edge of the balcony, pulling himself up smoothly, using elbows and knees, and then swings over the bannister, using the momentum to swing at the nearby vine creature, but missing, the flaming sword leaving a smoky trail through the air. 

Mordekai, Olin. (I'll take Olin's attack for him if he doesn't get back to use by the time Mordekai goes). 

(I had been waiting for Olin to see if he killed the last creature down this corridor so that I could get away without an attack of opportunity against me, so I could move up the stairs and fire an Eldritch Blast against the Vine creature. I'll just do it and risk the attack. I can't remember who's technically first in initiative order anyway.)

Mordekai, seeing that the battle is cooling off down here, and remembering Meepo had been on the crane surrounded last time he saw him, takes off up the stairs. As he gets to the top of the stairs, he sees the creature throwing vines around Hart and fires an Eldritch Blast at it.

Attack: 17 Damage: 11 

Olin clubs at the remaining small creature, Attack: 16 Damage: 6.  Attack: 8 Damage: 6. 

His first blow takes down the last creature in the hall, so his floating stick flies into the room of charmed creatures and wacks one.  It growls and moves towards him.  Meanwhile, Mordekai runs upstairs reaching the top, he blasts the vine creature through the screen of the two charmed creatures.  The vine creature explodes into chunks of wet vines, freeing Hart from their tangled grasp.  

The uncharmed needle blight charges Olin and swings at him. Attack: 10 Damage: 5

One of them also attacks Davian. Attack: 18 Damage: 5

The druid, suddenly surrounded by both Lionel and Hart does the only brave thing, and, with a crossbow bolt still stuck in his shoulder, leaps over the edge (using his action to disengage), and drops onto the wagon.  13 DC 12 to not sprain an ankle for 4 dmg.

Meanwhile, tiny creatures are still swarming around Meepo trying to kill him.   (Please roll your mirror image for the lone image left, if necessary.)

Attack: 20 Damage: 5

Attack: 17 Damage: 3

Attack: 9 Damage: 5

 The druid lands on his feet, and looking around and seeing all exits covered, he runs to the southeast wall and dives through the window.  Acrobatics DC 12 10 or take 1 glass smashing damage.

Ismark rushes past the two charmed needle blights and to the back of the horde fighting Meepo and begins chopping at the creatures. Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. Attack: 17 Damage: 9

Hart also comes running around the other side to attack one. Attack: 19 Damage: 9

Adrian, Davian, and Claudiu continue taking down the creatures downstairs. 

Attack: 22 Damage: 8

Attack: 14 Damage: 3

Attack: 18 Damage: 6

Attack: 18 Damage: 3

Attack: 23 Damage: 5

Ismark kills a creature near Meepo, Hart kills another. Downstairs, the family takes down two more needle blights and injures a third. 

There are only 7 creatures left around Meepo, Hart, and Ismark now.  The druid has managed to get outside, out the back, but looks grievously injured. 

Mordekai, Olin, Meepo, Lionel, take your turns. 

Round 10!   (This is likely the last round of this combat, as the rest will be 'mop up' work with no threat to the group...) 

Can Mordekai push past the two charmed blights given that they're not hostile? Or do they still block his path? If he can, he'll push past them and fire an Eldritch Blast at one of the blights (f) attacking Meepo. If not, he'll just take a couple of steps back and Blast on of the charmed ones (2).

(Ideally, I'd like to chase down that druid, but not going to leave Meepo to fend for himself, and Eldritch Blast has a long enough range that I can deal with them as part of the mop up if no one else gets them first)

Attack: 19 Damage: 15 

Lionel jumps after the druid and follows him through the window (since he already politely broke the window  -it should not be a problem).

Another attempt to hit the Druid: 8 Damage: 7  + 2 fire damage

First let's see aboutt that mirror mimage...

1st attack... 9

3rd attack... 6

The first attack hits Meepo, but he casts shield to delfect it.

The second attack destroys the last of the mirror images.

the third attack gets past Meepo's magic shield, doing damage.

Meepo uses his action to Cower and Beg.  "Bad bush things..." He wails in anguish.  "Why hurt Meepo..."  (Everyone gets advantage to attack any of them within 10 feet of Meepo.

Olin directs his spectral branch at the tree blight attacking him.

Attack: 8 Damage: 10

Then (regardless of if the tree is down or not) will run over to the window the druid fled from and will shout "Grovel!" casting command. (DC 14 Wis save or goes prone and ends its turn.)

The druid looks back, ducking Lionel's flaming sword and trying to resist Olin's command 8

He turns and flees.  (Lionel, attack of opportunity please).  The druid will be 60 feet away if you don't take him out. 

Upstairs, between Hart, Mordekai, and Ismark the group cleans up the rest of the small creatures, desperate to protect their groveling friend, their blades swinging true over the next couple of rounds, while the charmed creatures downstairs get hacked down moments before the charm wears away.  

Olin, Lionel, next action? 

I take it flaming damage would still count for AoO? 20 Damage: 12  + 6

Lionel hacks down the crazed druid as he tries to flee, the body dropping to the ground ablaze, giving off a black oily smoke.  

Everyone takes a moment to take it all in. Nearly a hundred dead wood creatures of various types and sizes lay hacked up, burning, and smashed across two floors of the loading bay. The drizzle outside continues to come down, drops of wetness dripping from Lionel's forehead, combined sweat and rain. Everyone breathes heavily, the intense combat done.  Davian walks up to Olin, grasping his forearm, nodding fiercely and clasping him on the shoulder. 

Everyone takes stalk of their various injures.

Lionel wiped the sweat from his brow and looked around. It was a rare case that in aftermath he came out completely unscratched ((-3 HP out of temporary HP pool)). He looked up and beckoned the rest of the party to come down. "Whatever you did, Mordekai, that was good - the logs were clumsy but numerous, I'd expect some scratches at least, yet, feel better than ever." 

"So, Davian... Is everything in order here now?"

Meepo comes limping over, bruised and battered from getting blasted off of that crane twice.  He gives his sharp-toothed grin though, clearly feeling the group got the better of this fight.  "Meepo here." He says as he looks around.  "Everyone good?" He asks, concerned that some of the group might have been hurt worse than he was.

Lionel did not comment Meepo conditions but put his hand on Meepo's shoulder for a moment, letting soft golden light washed over the kobold. (20 points of Lay on Hands Pool, Meepo is at full health).

"Meepo feel... good."  Meepo says with an even toothier grin.  "Meepo brave dragon..."  He glances around, but shrugs and casts minor illusion making the sound of a dragon's roar.

"Glad I could be of service. As for myself, I could do with a brief rest, but no major concerns." Mordekai looks to Davian, awaiting his reaction to what has transpired here. 

Davian and his son and grandson are both out of breath and sweating from the battle.  The grandson walks around picking up crossbow bolts. Davian smiles at the group, "Thank you very much.  As you can see, we had a delivery of wine all ready here." He turns back to his son, "Check the horses, make sure they're ok. Get Elvir, to help you and get three more casks from downstairs to load up."  He turns his regard back to you, looking at you each with a shrewd eye. "You are unexpected. This land is cursed...we are not accustom to unasked for help."  As he speaks you notice a murder of ravens land out in the winery.   There must be at least fifty that have come to land amongst the vineyard. Darian notes them but doesn't seem perturbed by them.  You see Adrian walk through them as if they weren't there, except to reach out and pet a couple as he walks by.   "I...I hesitate to ask.  You've just saved my family, our livelihood, and the very lifeblood of this land. Without wine I swear the whole place would plummet into hopelessness.  But, the druids have stolen something from me. Special magical gems that keep our vineyard flourishing despite the weather here. Without it, the plants will not long survive and this will have been for naught. If there is anything I can do for you, to help, me and my family will do so, but I must ask for your help once more. Further down this road leads up an old hill, to an ancient tree. The druids seem to have found a home there and corrupted the place.  I wonder if there was a way I could convince you to travel there and reclaim the gems....I know it is a lot to ask."
