The Valley of Ends

Replaying to the Goliath, "I prefer to do as much damage as I can to the undead, those type of abominations need to be eradicated from this and every land. However since coming here I have also been in contact of a number of other creatures that are equally as evil. So I am looking for a magical weapon that will damage them all and also make it easier for them to hit me. So maybe not something as powerful as the Flame Tongue but it has a little more oomf, shall we say, then the Sunblade. I am quite fond of my trusty battleaxe but if it makes it a little easier, I can go with a longsword, I am equally proficient with using both."

The goliath looks around the empty store before turning back to Resfaen.

"As you help bring back my good friend Fudar back from the dead I'll give you some advice about a Sun Blade. If you want a Sun Blade design, you may want to speak with the priests at the Lathander grand temple then. I can't promise anything but they may at least better advice where to find the designs for a sun blade and with the design it'll be a quick switch about to make a battleaxe," The goliath speaks in a serious tone, quite different from his more aloof salesman tone until now. 

(As you can tell, i'm not big on keeping swords weapon as swords only, etc)

Salys would approach Resfaen while he's up shopping, "When you're ready, let me know and I'd be happy to help you make that."

"Thank you for the information," as Resfaen slides over 10 gp, "I appreciate your honesty and I will be back to do business with you again. Can you direct me to the Lathander temple you think could help me?"

Then she turns to Salys as he approaches, "Perfect thank you, for now join me on my travel to the nearest temple."

"Well then my dear young lady, the grand temple is hard to miss. Look for the largest and grandest building in the city," the goliath explains.

"For now we have 4 dire wolves and 2 sabertooth tigers." Gotch says with a shrug.  "I would like to have them trained to aid us in combat and to work as a mount for me in addition.  Being friendly to those we specify is a must, but guarding our HQ from those who should not be there is also desirable."

"As for what other animals we are likely to get, I can't say on that." He nods though.  "Space is a concern, so I would not expect to have many more than we have already, unless something changes to allow for more space down the line." He meets the trainer's eyes.  "There is potential for more animals, but unlikely for some time.  The amount of gold I am offering is well above and beyond what you would get in several years of training animals, so I am hoping that is ensentive enough to try out these unusual training arrangements."

Onyx (DM interference)

The party decides to leave the mystery of the machine for later after they handle their own things in the city. 

Gotch: 

The two trainers, one human and one is a half elf, look at each other and seem to whispers to each other before turning to Gotch,  "We have a deal then Mr Gotch. You have the servies of Jamkas and Jiw Sao. Just give us a day to pack our things," They stretch their hands to shake, "Will be up front?"

 Earlier that day:

Toshi w/ Salys & Onyx & Gotch after buying manual and looking at misc books.

Toshi flips through the rather large collection of random books and seem to sorting them into two piles, one much larger than the other. Toshi points to the smaller pile of books and scrolls. "I will buy these for 100g,"

Note, someone has to go and pick up the rewards btw. 600g and Alexandrite (500g) /Bloodstone (50g) /Pearl (100g)

Fingolin goes shopping for some better protection. He asks the other party members for directions. He's looking for any combination of +1 Studded Leather / Cloak of Protection / Ring of Protection. Can resistance to elements be gained through enchanting armour or other items?

At the magic shop, they only have a few items on sale

Potion of healing - 50g

Potion of Fire Breathing - 150g 

Oil of Etherealness - 2500g

Spell Scroll (6th) (varies)- 15,000g

Light Hammer, +1 - 100g

Staff of Healing - 9,000g

Rod of the Pact Keeper +3 -40,000g

Ring Of Protection designs are not known to the party. +1 Armor design is known. 

A Cloak of Protection can be crafted with times, spells and materials if someone has leather working and another TBD special armor.

 Salys will sort through the smaller stack to try and get an idea if its a fair price (investigation: 24). Unless he has a reason to believe otherwise, he'll agree to the sale.

Salys will head back to the halfling woman from earlier, "Hello again! Have you been able to confirm the ghosts are gone yet?"

"I have no reports of the guards stationed outside your residence of any sights so I must conclude a job done," The official states as she gestures to a drawer and Salys sees a mage hand open and pulls out a brown pouch, it grabs and floats over to hand it over. Inside is 600gp with the three stones, "While I hope we do not requires your service again, I will hope should we, we will have it,"

Most of the material set aside for purchase seem to be more of the fallen paladin's personal writing and notes.

Salys takes the pouch with a smile and tucks it away, "Of course, I understand completely. You want us if you need us, but its better not to need us! Anyway, thank you again. Oh, by the way, do you happen to know anyone in town that might need our assistance?"

"Jobs are plentiful. Weather they're a challenge for individual as yourselves is probably the question. There are some jobs that may be beyond your group of course no offense. Probably check the job board. The Clerks tend to have good eye for what people are capable of and have over jobs for your calibres," The official states, "Maybe take a walk around the city and they find you of course. All I know is I have no pressing concern that came across my desk,"

Resfaen would seek out the Lathander temple and then start the process of working on the magical item. Before leaving she would give her respects to the god.

"Anything you wish to get done Salys?" Resfaen asks.

Fingolin buys the potion of healing from the shop. What is needed for the +1 Armor? He would get started on that.

I'll handle Resfaen trip to temple in a short bit

Resfaen and Salys follow the direction to the temple which seems to be the landmark of the cityself, set near the middle of the city. For the two as they emerged from the shadows of the surrounds building into very brighly lit open space in front of very grand and very reflective temple. The two shades their eyes against the glare as they make their way into the temple itself. There's a very worshippers, clerics and acylote bustling around the temple interior before a cleric takes notice of Resfaen and approaches.

"Welcome. How unusual to see a Paladin of Kelemvor here, What brings you this great day?" The cleric askes with a great big smile on his face. After making some inquires about the Sun Blade, the smiling face of the cleric seems to stiffen, "The Sun Blade is one of great relics of our morning lord. I can not just hand out the design at will," His head seem to turn to the side as if someone is talking to his side, "Please come this way. A priest wishes to speak with you," The Cleric ushers the duo into a side a after a hallways, directs them into a moderate room with a low table with several chairs around it. 

"Please ask two acolytes to bring some tea," A new voice speaks from the hallways. The Cleric bows before walking away holding the bow out of sight. The priest, a much older elven with streaks of grey in his hair steps in unlike the cleric with large robes, he wears shorter and simple verison. He steps in and takes a random seat while facing the two, "Welcome. I am Father Sarlen,"

"Resfaen. Paladin of Kelemvor. I've heard you and your freinds have been making waves. Our Sister temple in Caelfalls tells us much about your group, granted your old party member is helping bring up your group reputation. Our brother temple of Kelemvor in Fraka would like to meet you one day," Sarlen talks for a bit before turning to Salys, "I am sad to say I do know too much about you but I suspect I will in time. To the matter at hand, you seek a sun blade or at least the designs for it's manufactuying. As my fellow cleric may hav explained, the Sun Blade holds much importance to our temple however," He look at the door as two acolytes steps in, one with a tray of cups and one with a pot, they set them down and the high priest waves them off and restarts after afew seconds.

"I could use your and your friend's assistance. I could offer the Sun Blade's design, with restrictions as werll as some treasures for your assistance. The restriction being you craft one and only one Sun Blade or Sun Axe in this case," Serlen explains, "Of course, I understand you will want to speaks with your allies before taking or rejecting my offer,"

Kneeling in respect to Father Sarlen and then sitting down only after he does. "Thank you for the kind words and I am glad our former companion is doing well and I will make it a point to go visit the other temple when we are in the area." Nodding her thanks to the ones bringing in the tea, she takes a cup and turns back to Sarlen, "I am intrigued about your proposal. Are you able to talk more about it so I can pass on the information to my friends and we can decide on the matter?" Resfaen ask Father Sarlen.

"I can't speak too much if you're not taking the job but a rather powerful group is occupying a site I would like to be claimed," Serlen explains, "The site says on the crux important enough to want the site but our warriors capable handling the matter have more pressing concerns,"

"I can work with that and I will let you know shortly, let me get back to my companions and I will come back this evening and let you know. Thank you again." With that Resfaen gets up, bows and makes to leave and then stops. "Salys, did you have any questions or have need of anything here?"
